I have been here a few times because it is the atmosphere I enjoy and it has a great selection of beers on tap. HOWEVER, the crappy attitude from the bartenders has made this a no-go for me. Too bad because it has the makings of a great neighborhood bar. I know sometimes the curt attitude is part of the... More

First time eating German food. The Schnitzel is awesome! We also had a vegan sausage that was spicy and very good. For sides, we had the red cabbage, sauerkraut, and spaetzle. All were very good as was the Nutella pudding. We were definitely happy we tried this place. Though we don't know what authentic German food tastes like, since this... More

The food was good, beers were also and selection was fair. There wasn't a full bar however that helps with a few beer and shot combinations. Overall not a true Bavarian experience. But, for California about as close as you'll get. And yes, I've been there too.

I've eaten lunch an dinner here on recent trips. It's a popular joint. Both visits were in October, which means Octoberfest, which means crowds. Go for lunch for a quieter experience. Go for dinner if you like festive crowds and accordion players. This is authentic German food. Lots of sausage choices. If you love sausage as I do, well, this... More

Quite a small restaurant / pub , lovely decor , but the food ( which took a long time to arrive) did not taste anything like German food . It tasted ok , but I was just disappointed that my bratkartoffeln were cubed and dry , the potato salad had celery in it ! And the cucumber salad was mixed... More

Alright awesome place, amazing German food and even better beer. Love the boot. I could spend every night here and be happy. This place is fun, friendly and just a good time. Will be back soon. Thanks for the great suggestion from George for the wild boar brauts.

Excellent time at this restaurant and the food was fantastic! Had the Jaegerschnitzel and it couldn't have been any better. And the Apfel Strudel a la mode was to die for. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in the mood for authentic German cooking.

Just the place for multigenerational laid back fun. Big tables, blocks to play with, crayons. Nice touches. Great wurst selection to please vegans as well as carnivores. Apple strudel to die for. Kids menu was much appreciated. Sides are good but seemed better a few years ago (potato salad needs more tang & less mayo, red cabbage ditto on the... More
