It had been a while since I had been to Taix. Once again I found the food good, but not great. I will say that the service has improved. If you need a place for a group or company get together, there are lots of separate rooms for such gatherings. The group meals were pretty tasty, and again the service... More

$2.50 required valet parking at noon on a Saturday. No close easy street parking. Only bar with lots of tables for 4 was open at noon. Meals looked pretty and were served promptly. I thought they were overpriced (cheapest was $12.95 on a limited bar menu). A cup of onion soup was $7.95. Waitress knew the chicken would be tough... More

Management response:

Karen, we're sorry to hear your lunch felt in any way imperfect, and you're more than welcome to ask our servers for a replacement entree if you believe yours has been over cooked, like the chicken you mentioned. Also, while I believe our talented staff and fresh ingredients make our menu worth the price, I'm sorry to hear it wasn't... More

The food here was a bit disappointing, a bit overcooked and over the top with toppings. Salad was all lettuce and too much dressing.

Thank Robert M
Management response:

Robert, I'm sorry to hear our salad wasn't what you were expecting. We're always happy to make modifications to suit your tastes, so please feel free to speak up in the moment to your server. I hope you'll give us another chance to impress you soon. All the best, Mike T., Owner More

Came here for dinner, unfortunately they were hosting a music festival so the bar area was very busy. The food was okay, not worth the price in my opinion.

Management response:

Hi, Sammy! Sorry to hear we were overly busy during your recent visit. Our staff does their best to keep up with the orders, but the festival crowd can slow down the works during those two days that mark our busiest period of the year, by far. I hope you'll give us another visit so we can serve you under... More

Lunch at Taix with old friends brings back great memories of the early 70's, when I worked near Temple and Spring in downtown Los Angeles. Taix French Country Restaurant was a frequent choice for many of my colleagues and I. Recently, several of us met up at Taix to remember the good old days when we all worked at the... More

My living room away from home. Love everything about this place even the lil flaws. Just makes this fave place ever more enduring. The lounge is where it's at.

We went to Taix for restaurant week. The restaurant is in a mildly tacky, and really interesting part of Los Angeles, and the building is a throwback to the late 1920's. Walking in, one is enveloped in an antique restaurant, setting the scene for the evening to come. An intimate, dark bar with a friendly, competent bar tender started our... More

Step back in time and enjoy the experience of dining and savoring a delicious meal, served in elegance! Love the attention to detail to relax, from Valet parking, cozy dining spaces, and attentive service! The food, Devine!

Only valet parking, so be prepared. The restaurant is a bit dark, and I personally think it could use a good cleaning, but it is nonetheless absolutely charming and reminds one of an earlier age (1950's?) when "dining out" really meant something. I had the roast chicken and it was excellent. My wife opted for the ahi salad and enjoyed... More
