Feel like having some finger liking ribs than you have to stop by one of 3 Phillips Bar-B- Que locations. Best to call in and pick up your orders cause its a "takr.out " stand with plenty of free parking. Cash and credit cards excepted. Lots southern desserts too.
Phillips is one of the better BBQ take-out places in Los Angeles- I usually get pork ribs and rib tips and I'm pleased most times. Its a tiny place and they have a pretty good system for handling customers but they are still very slow. I call in my order and its usually ready when I get there but not... More
When a good friend of mine recommended that I try Phillips BBQ on Crenshaw, I made the trip there without hesitation. Well, after waiting about 25 minutes in line, then another 20 minutes for my food, I was highly disappointed with the overall taste of the meal. I mean, after waiting so long for a meal- who would think that... More
We arrived right at noon, very busy, but that was great to see the place like it is supposed to be. There was 7 lines to wait in to order your French dip. Ham, Beef, Turkey & Pork. They are very very good. It makes you feel like you are in the 50/60s time period. Great pie too. Then after... More
Phillip's is pretty good, but you need to check out JNJ BBQ on Adams near Fairfax. Now, to my taste, they have the best I've tried in L.A.
While this is a take out only restaurant, it has been the Best Bar-B-Que in all of Los Angeles for a long, long time. I have been going to this restaurant for Bar-B-Que for at least 40 years and it has remained excellent for taste, quality and service for this entire time. A family-owned restaurant, Phillips pork ribs, sliced beef... More
I went out of my way to get down on the shredded pork and it did not disappoint! Whilst I was there I couldn't go past a pecan pie on the helpful counter staff's recommendation and I am so glad I did. The food is well priced and super fast, a great pit stop spot!
Phillips is located in Leimert Park, Los Angeles. It's a hole-in-the-wall, but it has really good ribs! I've been coming here for years, there's always a line, but it does move. The wait is well worth it, because the ribs are truly juicy and delicious! I like coming here when I'm in the mood for soul food...they also have sides,... More
