Mexican food is ok at best. Very noisy but you can sit outside and breath in the fumes from Ventura Blvd. I pass on this establishment

No need to be overly critical. Margaritas and guacamole hit the spot. Easy access and egress to the freeway make it convenient to meet friends.

We have been eating at this restaurant for twenty years. When I looked online to see what time they closed I was shocked to see all the bad reviews. We hadn't been here in about a year so I ignored the reviews and we went for dinner on a Sunday evening. Normally this restaurant has been packed with a wait... More

Stopped with friends for a light dinner and a few drinks. All the food was served quickly and everything was very nicely prepared. Chris our waiter was very attentive and friendly. All our drinks were served in the shaker and were generously poured. We will definitely be back!

Yesterday we said farewell to a co-worker that's moving on. I had the Chicken Enchilada Suprema with rice and black beans with guacamole and tomatillo salsa; it was delicious. The Guacamole and salsa was also excellent.

They had corn tortillas!!! Any Mexican restaurant worth anything has to have corn tortillas and they did..and they were good too. Drinks were pretty good too. After dinner we sat at the bar and had a few more drinks. Great place for a late night dinner.

I just re-found Mexicali now that I moved back to the Valley and I've been enjoying it way more than I remembered. The drinks are decent, definitely not the best but they'll totally do and the food is pretty good, old school Mexican food. Nothing fancy but when you want enchiladas covered in cheese or a good guacamole, this is... More

Mexicali is always a friend favorite for food along the cute boutique-y boulevard of Ventura in Studio City. The shopping center hosting Mexicali has plenty of parking and there are ice cream shops, yogurt, coffee shops, and other boutiques in the area in case you wish to browse before or after dinner. I have never thought of Mexicali as a... More

Sorry I wanted to like this place. I live nearby and I like to support businesses near me. But the food is blah. They need to rethink this. Get a good chef to help them reinvent their menu. I had fajitas and they were so boring. The meat was fine but very plain without flavor. The guacamole was huge clumbs... More
