Stopped in for lunch, got a sweet and spicy pizza with a salad to go. The service was exception and the wait was minimal. Just down the street from the Beverly Hilton. Seats inside and out. Very convenient and delicious.

I had a slice of peperoni and olives and it was pretty good, but not the authentic New York style taste. The service was good though, and the staff was nice.

Having read some rave reviews, my kids and decided to try this place. Sadly, the customer service was better than the pizza. The pizza was greasy and the cheese didn't taste fresh. Could taste the marinara sauce. Just tasted salty. The pizza was average at best. Having traveled a great deal and tasted various pizzas, this pizzeria was a disappointment.

It's nice that Johnnie's has California Plaza as one of their Downtown LA locations, but this store lacks most of the ambiance that other Johnnie's have. Perhaps some booths or upgraded seating would help. Otherwise, a so-so choice for lunch. (To be honest, if it wasn't for its participation the MOGL rewards program, I probably wouldn't visit again.)

The service was sub-par, as the only person working couldn't have appeared more indifferent. The pizza was very dry and tasted like it had been sitting under the heat lamp for hours. Very expensive and overrated! No wonder I was the only customer in the place.
