We tried the sea urchin and rainbow roll and were impressed. For this quality, at this price, we are happy diners.

This little sushi place was our favorite 3-4 years ago. We went last week to have the incredible dynamite they used to serve but was very disappointing . I think the cook has changed. The sushi was not the same. I hope they consider a change there.

I have been coming here for years and tonight I wondered why I never rated this place. It is the best. Nicest people appreciating our business! I think we have been coming here for 20 years and we just love this place. It was recommended years ago by downtown local artists. They know whats good and inexpensive. I love the... More

This place is kick butt. I've been coming here for years and have referred many people to Frying Fish. They have a rotating sushi counter and sushi chefs that are awesome. They make whatever you want and it's all super fresh. The prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality of food you get. Their oyster shooter is BOMB! TRY IT!

One of the best sushis I ever had, prices are good value. Service is good, portions are big. Haven't eaten something which I don't like. Was well frequented by locals.

Whenever I'm in the area on business I always eat here. I love the conveyor belt that moves sushi plates past you...grab the one's you want and eat! Dumplings, rolls, you name it! They make special rolls to order. I love the tempura fried Las Vegas Rolls, The Dynamite Roll, and the Philadeplhia Rolls. All are really good. The chefs... More

Great place if you love sushi but got no money like me!! Can't complain about the quality in a place where sushi starts at $1.50 a plate. :)

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
