Fantastic food and margaritas. Has the taquine rimmed cucumber Margarita - authentic and tasty, not too sweet. Taco Carne Asada fantastic. The salsa was natural and slightly spicy - perfect taste and texture. Good for family dinner too as we had two small children

The writer and I came back to Olvera Street just to eat here, one of the oldest restaurants in Los Angeles. We ate only the chicken tortilla soup, plus two cold beers. The soup was decent, full of cilantro, but missing the avocado chunks. Great live music, everybody on staff quietly singing along.

A long time Angelino, with family roots in Texas, Louisiana, and Tampico, Mexico City DF, and Cuernavaca in Mexico, and working for over 30 years in the downtown financial district of Los Angeles, having a good Mexican restaurant to depend upon was always an imperative for civilized living. In the "make believe" complex of Olvera Street, hard by LA's magnificent... More

Had a few hours to spend so lunching here. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Margarita was exactly what I expected and beautifully served. Thanks for a warm and filling lunch.

We came for lunch on a weekday and was seated on the patio. Our waiter was friendly but not as attentive as he should have been. One of us had ordered an entree that came with soup but we didn't get it until we asked. We had seen our waiter bring a bowl of soup towards our table, but then... More

I love "chicken mole" and tend to order it whenever I visit a Mexican food restaurant. Unfortunately, I'm usually disappointed as I always compare it to the mole my mom used to prepare. The mole at La Golondrina was exquisite. It tasted homemade with just the amount of sweet chocolate that made it taste just like mom's. If the rest... More

Does have a gluten free menu. A reasonable price. Has an outdoor patio with a great view. Very slow service took forever.

I was fortunate to be taken here for Lunch by my Californian Cousins. The whole ambience is very special indeed. The staff are attentive and perfect in every way. Me being a Brit, i am always impressed by the levels of service provided as standard. Yes there may be gratuities to add. However being treated as if you are the... More

We had not been here in decades, and found it still charming, still authentic, good food and service. Their small bar is excellent, and the house Chardonnay is Chateau St. Jean! What a good find, go there and try it.

After a day visiting downtown LA we picked here to eat. We had been once before years ago and it was good so we decided to try again. They say it is one of the oldest buildings in LA dating to 1850. Food was very good with large portions. Everything was very fresh. Burrito and enchiladas both were good. Waiter... More
