The atmosphere is from a 1950's movie, fantastic martini while you wait for a table and very good bouillabaisse the real French way...

LIke going back in time: the menus are printed daily, the waiters are in a uniform and know how to serve a meal, make recommendations, etc...a must for movie buffs and anyone wanting 'old Hollywood' flavor! Has a bar, a counter and fine dining~all in one spot!

Went here before a theatre performance. Did not disappoint. It was very crowded and we had a 5:30 reservation. Excellent martini and the beef tartare was outstanding. Creamed spinach was not good. Sand dabs were good but not great and a couple of bones were found. Not a huge wine list but reasonably priced. Nice option for dinner and a... More

I had a VERY BAD experience tonight ( April 2). We four (Chinese) were forced to sign a tip that was given by the attendant. I think this is clearly a discrimination on us because the attendant obviously thought we have no idea of the tipping system in the state while actually we are regular biz visitors. I signed the... After so many years in business, lots of restaurants fall victim to complacency or adapting to add the next shiny object. Not so Musso and Frank on Hollywood Blvd, on either count. A perfect filet mignon; a lovely, ideally (lightly) dressed green salad; and crusty, fresh, hot French bread are just three examples of their traditional fare, prepared to perfection.

Fabled Bar & Restaurant open since 1919. Quite simply, my favorite restaurant in LA. Great old school look and menu. Great steak and meals. Best drinks around. Great for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Been there for all three meals. LOVE it there.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first dining experience at Musso & Frank! The excellence of service and delicious menu anchors this restaurant as one of LA's finest since 1919! The service was impeccable and the dining experience was second to none! It was our daughter's birthday, and it was her wish to have her birthday dinner at this historic restaurant and... More

After reading other reviewers I had to bring my wife here for her Bday dinner. It did not disappoint! Food was incredible and the service lived up to its great reputation.

My daughter and I visited California for our 50th and 22nd birthdays, respectively. We had dinner here with our friends to celebrate. The atmosphere was old Hollywood. We were seared at Chaplin's old dining booth. We received a little historical tour of the place from Bobby (apparently the manager). Emanuel was our waiter. Very attentive service. Enjoyed a couple of... More

We expected a big crowd on St. Patrick's Day, late afternoon but the place was empty and quiet. Nice, actually because six family members can get loud. Waiters were attentive and understanding. Food was great - we ordered a variety of breakfast and lunch dishes. Ate all of it - I especially liked the pastrami sandwich.

Staying in Hollywood

Neighbourhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
