The Brite Spot Diner is a historical cafe in Echo Park that has survived seven decades of change. It's most recent reinvention caters to the local hipster community. The decor is a combination of eclectic, modern, and 50's Diner. We stopped there for breakfast recently and enjoyed the ambience but the food was not above average. In fairness, their specialty... This is a really fun place. It has a quirky, old timey diner feel. The food is really good with lots of variety. I had the vegan BLAT and it was excellent. The service the day we went was kind of slow. However we went with some friends who go often and they said it isn't usually like that.

My daughter takes me here every time I visit her in Los Angeles, it has off street parking, crazy cool for this park of town! The diner is funky in decor, but the food is generous and very well done. The chefs and bakers take pride in their final products. My goodness, they have best Kale Salad, they massage the... More

Write Spot has great comfort food with some interesting surprises on the menu. All 5 of us out-of-towners loved it and agreed that we would come back. Prices are great and our service was great as well. I recommend the mac and cheese or kale salad.

Good selection of breakfast items. I had the fried egg sandwich: very good; kept me full until dinner time. Great waiter. Always quick to refill coffee mug.

Love this place. Some of the best food I've eaten. Bacon cheeseburgers are amazing & service is very good. Banana nut pancakes are like wow!

I've passed this place thousands of times over the years and never stopped. Went in a few months ago and came out thinking I hadn't been missing anything. It was 'ok'. I was driving by recently, was hungry and decided to give it another try. I love good biscuits and gravy. I find them hard to come by. I'm hesitant... More

I probably ate here for thee first time about 35 years ago. This is only my second visits in all these years. It's become kind of a hipster diner as the Echo Park District gentrifies. That probably explains why when I ordered eggs over medium with sausage, the server asked if I wanted turkey or chicken sausage. "No pork sausage?"... More

Echo Park's Brite Spot...a favorite L.A. institution since 1949. Whether traveling solo or with friends, everyone's welcome to enjoy the old school counter and rockstar glitter booths. The Southern Decadence breakfast looks amazing. They also offer standard diner fare as well as a delicious vegetarian/vegan menu. If you can't resist the famous Banana Cream or Bourbon Pecan Pie, try ordering... More
