We had a wonderful late lunch at this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. I'd read the reviews and came late to avoid the crowds. Although our waiter was new, he was able to make several menu recommendations. We had their special which includes 4 different items, as well as a crab roll and a scallop roll. Everything was delicious. I'd... More

I guess I'm spoiled. I have a favorite sushi restaurant at home that is superb. This sushi was good but I'd give it a B, vs an A+ for my place back home. The crab in the Spider Roll was overcooked and the Sea Eel was mediocre. Just my opinion.

Excellent Sushi made all sorts of creative ways in a branch of the venerable and wonderful Katsu-ya group. Sit at the Sushi bar or at a table but for lunch the line forms out the door so I usually come a little later around 1:30 or so. They are open to 2:30 but will continue to serve clients in the... Sashimi platter was delicious and fresh. Gyoza was meaty and charred to perfection. Lobster dish with shrimp and creamy sauce was fantastic and filling! My passion fruit shoju was just a tad too sweet though. Service was solid and on point. Definitely will be back for a meal or two.

Great sushi and the highlight is the sushi on the fried rice! I arrived at an off hour (3:30 pm) and it was full. Always have daily sashimi offerings based on the catch. Never a disappointment!

Was in Manhattan Beach today and walked past The Izaka-ya as we were heading down to the pier. Decided to come back at opening time to try it out. They open at 5:30, got there at 5:40 and they were almost full. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to squeeze us in. We had our young kids... More

Driven by here many times and there's always a line out the door, so we decided to try it. The sushi is fresh, creative, reasonably priced and delicious! Crispy rice is a new favorite now! Staff is super friendly, and accommodating for any special requests. We will return again and again!

We recently visited some friends in MB and had a really nice dinner. It was a Tuesday night and the place was jammed. We were promptly seated thanks to making reservation. Service was perfect. The seafood was very good and the rice stayed together. The price was very reasonable for California, lots of sushi, and a couple bottles of wine.... More

Wonderful excellent Japanese restaurant. It is a must for Japanese food lovers. Very fresh, great service. Scallops are very good, shishito peppers. Excellent choice.
