A Guitar and a Bass and some funky music along with some delicious food AND then walking the Venice Pier as the sun was dropping into the Pacific....You tell me what could be better than that. Thank you Mercedes Grille......

The food is here is delicious and they have a bomb happy hour menu. It's never really dead there's always some sort of crowd or people at the bar. Service is great, friendly and attentive. Bathrooms are clean, nice breeze blowing throughout. I recommend when visiting Venice!

The plantain chips with tamarind sauce, served as an appetizer, were my favorite part of the meal. I had the flavorful pork with a side of plantains. Delicious. Great place to people watch and close to the beach.

Potentially a great place to eat, although the food wasn't in any way above ordinary. It was tasty, it was what was promised on the menu, but still just managed to be ok without being special or memorable. You'd probably dine here more for the ambience than the food, and the ambience is great. We however got 'tricked' by the... More

Ordered side of bacon with cream cheese bagel, stack of blueberry pancakes, Bachlorette Omlette, Chorizo and Eggs. Bacon had great Flavor. Pancakes had huge blueberries and Omlette was Loaded with Bacon Green Chillis and lil sour cream and cheese under a blanket of fluffy Eggs, served with Fresh Sliced Melon and Fruit. I'd do it again. Omlettes are 1/2 off... More

This is a popular restaurant and has good food. We did not have to wait too long to get in though. Prices were not crazy high. The truffle fries were very good as was the burger and the bean soup.Wait staff was friendly and efficient.

We came off the beach and found this cute place a few blocks up Washington. Outside seating was great for the perfect day. Good drinks and food made for a lovely lunch.

This place is a popular mainstay and I got to say hello the perpetually ageless, attractive, and affable Mercedes. My chicken tostada lunch was just great! Also, the new bartender, Patrick, is a well-known and popular restaurant pro from the Marina. He is a great asset to Mercedes. All his customers like him. I intend to make this a more... More

We've walked by this place numerous times thru the years and finally decided to give it a try. We ordered the grilled fish tacos and the citrus salmon. Both came with black beans, rice, and plantains. Both meals were excellent. We dined al fresco and enjoyed people watching. The service was friendly and prompt.

Been coming here for many years. Great for weekend people watching especially during the summer or on holidays. The patio is prime. Large menu, so many options. Being cuban there is a Caribbean/tropical emphasis to the food.

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
