We found this was the only restaurant open in Markleeville when we went looking for a place to eat. We got there early so only a few patrons there but as evening got later more friendly people came in out of the rain for drinks and food. Waitress did everything by herself with a smile:) While we were eating a... More

I only wanted to try the burger. And went with the Ortega burger. This was fabulous. Make sure you order it medium well or well. Good beers and full bar. Kinda pricy but it's a tourist town, so I'll give them that. The side aren't included in the burger price so it's extra cost.

Relatively busy with the bartender is your server, drink maker, salad maker and cashier. She seemed harried but wazefhficient and friendly. Ordered a burger and salad. Lady was nice enough to hold the iceberg and add more romaine. Good selection beers on tap and full bar. Menu offers up grow to dinner options. Burger was tasty and filling. We will... More

Lodged at the nearby NF-campground (small, primitive but cosy) we discovered - after weeks eating too many large, rather fattening, american-style dinners - in the Wolfcreek a chef which made a very delicious grilled salmon steak. People at both sides of the bar were very welcoming, ready for a talk if one wanted to.

This is definitely a neat historic building rich in history. I must stop if your into history and old California structures. This is the local "watering hole" for the little town of Markleeville. The restaurant is very nice, there is a bunch of old photos and other stuff to look at inside. And they have an outdoor dining area that... More

Ate a "between" meal at Wolf Creek after traveling to the hot springs nearby. Our whole extended family of 12 nearly filled the back of the seating area. Even though we were there at a "non peak" time we were seated and served efficiently and in a friendly "glad you're here" manner. Food was excellent and service was attentive and... More

You never know what you are going to get when it comes to tiny town restaurants. Some are great and some are dreadful. If you choose to stop at Wolf Creek you won't be disappointed. The restaurant is decorated nicely with nods to yesteryear, the food is tasty with just the perfect amount of choices to choose from and service... More

We stopped for lunch during the week while we were taking a scenic drive. The atmosphere is really cool and original, and the food was pretty good too! The garlic fries were a little too much but other than that everything was great!

My husband and brother-in-law always fish in Markeeville, but never have stopped to eat. So, when we had company come visit he took us around and stopped to have lunch at Wolf Creek. Good and service were great. I had BLT, my husband had the fish sandwich, his brother had a wrap and his wife had the club. Portions generous.... More

Markleeville is a place you pass on the way to somewhere else (South Lake Tahoe), but you should stop in for a bite to eat at Wolf Creek Restaurant. We pop in here quite often when we're in the area. They have a nice, rustic dining room and an outdoor terrace as well. The food is always good, but sometimes... More
