We ate at this restaurant few days ago right after the big storm and strong breeze in the Bay Area........ when we arrived at the restaurant we were informed that part of the electricity is out and we can't order non-pan fried food or their famous satay dish. Their Indian Roti Prata was excellent with a nice sauce for dipping.... More

The service is good. They give you a number and seat you only when your entire party is present. I sat at the "bar" while waiting - the bartender offered me a glass of water. The food was the same as always - although now I'm a lot more sensitive to sugar in my food. (Took a star off for... More

Had a wonderful lunch here. Vegetable curry and pad thai. The portions were a little small, but it was very tasty. We really enjoyed it. You have to order a small bowl of rice to go with it which is an additional expense. There are lunch specials available Mon through fri. This is an Indian and Thai/Malaysian place.

However, even for the fact it is humble on space and décor, the food is the best around. Service was terrific and it is a real plus when you can have a meal for two in these parts, with drinks and get away for less than $100. Not romantic but more social and lively. Students, young up and coming entrepreneurs... More

Everytime I visit SJ, Banana Leaf is on my list, by default. Roti Prata/Pineapple rice is a must try here. It is pretty busy, so it is advisable to get in early or call for a reservation. If you get in late you might have to wait , the food is worth the wait though!

I came here twice with my friends, another time was when my chieu leader ordered food here to treat us. The food was yummy, majority of dishes is curry and in Malaysian style ( which I found very close to Thai food.) This restaurant is always packed, especially during lunch; so you better come early to get your seats. Price... More
