I have been eating here monthly for nearly 30 years. It is my favorite place in Monterey. Great Szechawan spicey pork with fried rice.Great combos and specials. Not to mention the waitress always knows what I want to eat and drink.

There are quite a few Restaurant choices on the Monterey Peninsula. And, as you can imagine, many are Seafood style and/or Steak choices. The food is plentiful, the prices are fair.

Love their food! It's hot, freshly prepared and has a good balance of flavours. I always get the beef with black bean sauce on rice, and I tell them to make it spicy. Their spicy shrimp is also really good. I haven't tried their noodle dishes yet... Maybe next time. The place isn't all that attractive and there is a... More

Like most really good Chinese restaurants, it's about the food, not the decor. We went, on the recommendation of a Chinese Tai Chi student of mine, for the steamed fish. It was, naturally, great. We also ordered the Garlic Eggplant, which is labelled "Hot" but in fact can be ordered low, medium or high. It too was very good (and... More

Not what you would think of as a place you would want to eat when you see it from the outside; 70's anyone? With that said, no ambiance, but reasonable food at fair prices when you need a bite. They seem to do a brisk take-out business, which is probably their main focus

The meals are delicious! Fast, friendly, efficient service will delight you. The food is good old fashion Chinese family style; that every American town used to have. Yes! many Americanized Chinese food dishes that are delicious, but also many truly ethnic spicy dishes are available. You could even get a cheeseburger, if the kids want one. Full bar is available... We were regulars here in the 70s and nothing's changed. Same menu, chairs, tables, statues...you know what you're getting, because it's the same as you got. Dependable, fairly fast: a Chinese equivalent of a NY deli.

We ordered the Special Wonton soup plus noodles. The soup had lots of goodies: wontons, pork, shrimp, noodles, & veggies. We also had the garlic egg plant w/ pork & tofu....Yum😃 The food was delicious and our server Cindy did us well. The ambiance: a Chinese diner,

After a meeting, our group wanted a quick and simple lunch. Chong's menu has number for each lunch dishes. Each of us submitted a number for our order. Orders came quick and simple. The price for each order was economical. The prices range from$6.95 to $9.95, excluding tax and tips. It was Saturday and the restaurant was packed during lunch... More
