My husband and I have gone to the Hofbrau many times over the years. I almost always get the Beef Dip/French Dip sandwich. My husband has ordered their burgers, fried fish, and a couple other items, and they were all delicious. They are a little more expensive than some of the other restaurants by the time you add fries and... More

The Hofbrau offers good and reasonably priced food in a water front location right in Morro Bay.Nothing fancy. Good sandwiches and fried seafood, etc.

If you visit Morro Bay, you have to go to the Hofbrau! Located right on the bay, it's kind of a funky place that hasn't changed in years; and that's a good thing. You stand in line to order from the person carving a huge hunk of beef. The french dip sandwiches are to die for, and they also have hamburgers,... More

We were staying just up the road so wanted somewhere close to walk to for our evening meal. It was quite busy which is always a good sign. Service was quick and the staff were friendly. It looked like the customers were a mix of locals and tourists. We easily founds items on the menu that suited us and our... More

We were visiting the coast and wanted to have dinner where they offered seafood with an ocean view. When we walked in there were only a few patrons, but when we left after dinner the wait line was out the door. I ordered the seafood shrimp basket and substituted the fries with a garden salad. The shrimp was good and... More

My cousin and I stopped here on the way up the PCH from LAX to Frisco and we were very pleased. Gorgeous view of Morro Rock and the Bay. The prime rib sandwich was HUGE and the chicken tortilla soup was homemade and the best I've ever had no kidding. I would love to have their recipe!

They advertise a 'World Famous" beef dip sandwich. It's pretty darn good I gotta say. Tender with a good portion of fresh carved meat. I'd recommend stick with the beef, but the German fare looked pretty Good too...

Amid restaurants that come and go, just as quickly sometimes, the Hofbrau has been dispensing great fish and chips (I am British and know a good F&C when I taste one) for many years. I liked their previous location better (more atmosphere, practically in the ocean) but this is not too shabby. Morro Rock, the hulking icon of Morro Bay,... More

In a small beach town catering to tourism, it is inevitable that the majority of restaurants specialize in fish and seafood, from upscale to humble fish-and-chips. In fact, on any given weekend, the whole place smells like a fish fry. Although, I am an omnivore, with pescatarian leanings, some days you've just got to escape from the odor of fishy... More
