We picked this restaurant off Trip Adviser while driving through the area. What a great find! No wonder they are celebrating 50 years. Fabulous food and service. Highly recommend!

Stopped in here for lunch while on a business trip. Friendly place with all your favorite Mexican dishes. Nice bar, too. Ordered the carne asada with shrimp, exactly as expected. Warm tortillas on the side are a nice touch.

Brent started us off right...chips and a great salsa, along with an Anniversary Margarita! I'd read about Mama's Soup, so we shared a bowl. It is wonderful, chicken broth, large chunks of chicken breast, rice, avocado, tomato, cilantro and lime and warm tortillas. Our entree's were excellent, I had the Shrimp al Mojo de Ajo, jumbo sized and sautéed in... More

Nothing fancy. You can be dressed in attire at this beach close Mexican restaurant. Food is good, generous and restaurant has been family owned and run for 50 years. All their locations are great. Good service as well.

Great Mexican place. Guacamole is very fresh and good. My husband had the steak quesadillas and I had a cheese tamale with grilled veggies and beans. Great food. Easy access to the place. Great service. Highly recommend!

I was disappointed when I tasted their menudo because it was can menudo. Don't serve it if you don't make it. Other food was ok, I guess.

Avila's Newport Beach has good food, service and atmosphere. We had a largish (8) party for my birthday and they took care of us wonderfully.

The restaurant was noisy and crowded (it was a Saturday night). The staff were efficient, but hurried. The food was okay, but certainly not exceptional.
