Ate with some business friends from the area who booked this place. We had a quiet table in the corner and enjoyed a 3 hour meal that was really outstanding. the butter fish was really delicate and delightful. The calamari appetizer was not overly greasy as many other restaurants often serve and it also had some interesting spices - not... More

I've eaten at Roy's on Maui and Kauai and enjoyed the food very much. Unfortunately, the food at this location was very disappointing. My husband and I had an appetizer and two dinners and were quite surprised by the poor quality of the food. Everything we ordered was overly salty and the portions were surprisingly skimpy. I ordered steak and... More

Let me start with the good parts of review. I went last night with my wife to celebrate my wedding anniversary with my wife. The food was SO good & waters were constantly filled. Now for the areas that needed improvement. When we walked in the door, there wasnt a hostess anywhere to be found. The lady, who I assume... More

Their happy hour is a joke. The Sunshine Roll had more rice than tuna, salmon and yellow tail. The crispy chicken spring rolls were okay. The pork sliders are more Hawaiian roll than pork or coleslaw but the kicker was the truffle macaroni and cheese. I ordered this without truffle oil, it's very strong and for people who are "tasters"... More

After having wonderful dinners at this location for over 10 years, this was our "go-to" place for my birthday. Such a disappointment - I have no idea what has happened to this restaurant which used to be my favorite. Despite having a reservation (for a Sunday night), we were seated at the table closest to the kitchen. It only got... More

My wife and I had a great time at Roy's. The service was great, drinks were good and the food was even better. If you have a chance take your wife for a great meal.

We have enjoyed Roy's for many years in Hawaii; and, Pebble Beach. When we visited Fashion Island in Newport Beach for a shopping expedition we decided to have Saturday brunch at Roy's. We arrived at our reservation time at noon. Only one other table was occupied. The waitstaff was great. But, it appeared than the cook staff was limited. We... More

My family of four dined at Roy's in Newport Beach last night which was a Sunday. Not impressed, over rated and the food was disappointing. We had the Fish Trio $45 for minuscule amounts of salmon, ahi, and butter fish, it was blah tasting, over priced, and unimpressed with the entire dining experience. I would not recommend this restaurant many... More

Have had dinner and Happy Hour there a few times. I am just not a fan of Asian fusion so unless you are a big fan of that style...you will probably not really like the restaurant. Flemings is located next door is is always by far busier.

The service was very good and everyone very friendly. We have been to Roys many times, but this time the food was mediocre. They no longer serve the complimentary edamame appetizer. We had the Szechuan Calamari and it was very good. However, my Teppanyaki Shrimp was cold and bland. I ordered the carrots instead of rice and it was forgotten,... More
