I don't know how they do it but it is simply the most flavorful, best tasting cappuccino ever! Whenever I'm up in the Newport area I make sure to stop by and have one.

The coffee is roasted on site and it is evident in the taste. This is a popular spot, a mecca for coffee conaisseurs, and has the line ups to prove it. It seems to have a cult following and have true devotees who don't mind the wait for the delicious coffee. As I entered the establishment, I was struck by... More

Kean serves the best coffee in town. Always stop here when I'm in the area. Martin "knows his beans". Coffee roasted on site. Really friendly staff. Sometimes hard to find a seat during coffee rush hours, especially on the weekend. Martin is able to get the best product because he has been doing this pretty much his whole life and... More

Kean Coffee was recommended by some friends to stop on our way home from Torrance. We stopped and it was full of customers. We went in and waited about 15 minutes to be waited on. Not a problem. We got our coffee to go and our first sip to the very last was heavenly!! I cannot wait to be in... More

Quite simply the best in the area. This place knows coffee and great cistomer service. They make cappuccino the italian way, the way it should be. I just can't be happier to find this gem. This is my go-to espresso place!

I have been there 6 times and each time the coffee/mocha is never hot, nor prepared as I requested and I dont think the barristas are humorous at all. Never Again.

Good coffee, but trying to get a cup is another story...over run with "Trendies". Take your coffee with or go to Starbucks down the street.

When Starbucks took over the world, I was afraid I would lose my Diedrich's Mayan Mocha. But Kean Coffee, which was Diedrich's before they sold to Starbucks, the home of the Mayan Mocha lives on.

They serve very good cappuccino, in a generous quantity, but the baked goods there were so unattractive that we didn't even want to taste them. You do have the good coffee, you do have the costumers ( the place was crowded ), why not selling them some good pastries and cakes with the good coffee? You don't have to bake... More

Kean Coffee is an independent coffee roaster/coffeehouse owned and operated by Martin and Karen Diedrich. Martin Diedrich founded Diedrich Coffee in 1984, which developed out of his father Carl Diedrich's coffee roasting business. Diedrich Coffee grew from it's roots as an Orange County favorite to become a rather large company, eventually going public and acquiring other coffee chains. In 2004 Martin parted ways with his company and founded Kean Coffee, named for his son, in order to return to his roots as a small, local, independent coffeehouse operator. With Kean Coffee, Martin and Karen have brought the focus back to quality and community, again roasting coffee in-house and elevating coffee to an art form. Kean Coffee is a true community gathering place.
