Food is good but there is nothing outstanding that I can mention. I am probably missing something because the parking lot is always packed full during holidays and during the summer with the tourists. Maybe it's the bar? We don't know about that so can not review.

We stay in Pismo every year with our family, this year we had 18 of us. It's not easy to find an affordable yet someplace that can accommodate 18. The food was fantastic and the swervice was great. we so enjoyed our last day at this restaurant and highly recommend old Juan 's cantina.

Wait staff were excellent but the drinks were weak, salsa tasted like it was store bought, & the 2 dishes we got were bland.

Had dinner before we went to the Melodrama and it was great. The place was packed for a Saturday night but we were seated quickly. I had the Adobo Poblano which was grilled chicken and shrimp stuffed in two large Poblano chiles. It was a fine change to my normal burrito or enchiladas selections. My wife had the Chile Verde... This place has fantastic margaritas, especially the strawberry. The food was just OK (obviously all store-bought ingredients), but the portions were large. The service on the other hand, has much to be desired. The hostess just stood around talking to another employee about personal things for a long time before she even acknowledged us. The waitress was very slow, grumpy,... More

Great salads. Not the typical ones you usually get at a Mexican restaurant. Good portions enough that you can share. The staff is very friendly and the live music is authentic! Sometimes a wait, but you can order from the bar and relax until they call you.

My husband and I entered the restaurant and had no greeting whatsoever even though the hostess was right there a few feet away. We tried to catch her eye but to no avail. Finally she looked at us and said "Can I help you?" I replied "a table would be nice". Our waiter was friendly and efficient. It didn't take... More

This restaurant does not serve Mexican food. What is served is pseudo Mexican food made with non fresh ingredients smothered with melted cheese. The cheese probably is always added in order to hide the bland or awful taste of the food being served. I also ordered a tortilla soup that had a sharp piece of plastic in it!!!!!

Despite good reviews, this restaurant has very bland Mexican food. Service was very, very slow. Save your money
