I went with a group of six, so we could sample most of the menu. Not a single dish was less than excellent. The dishes were creatively cooked enhancing the natural flavors and the service was immaculate.

When down in Pacific Grove/Monterey I struggle to eat anywhere else. I eat out around the SF Bay Area often, and I put this restaurant as one of the best restaurant experiences. I have eaten here numerous times over at least 15 years. The food is still as inventive and delicious as ever. Some things we had were the Fried... More

My German son-in-law LOVED this place. We dined 2 nights. The spicy soup was full of flavor and delicate. Make reservations, as it fills quickly. Lots of people seated in the waiting area. Veggies prepared well.

My wife and I took kids here. We were concerned that there was nothing there for children. However, the server was very patient and helped us out with that. It was all good. This restaurant receives great reviews for a reason. The food is so tasty. I had lamb that was so flavorful. Others had fresh, sustainable seafood that was... More

Xmas eve and our table was ready exactly at the time we booked. Staff was very helpful and courteous even though they were totally full. The restaurant had enough help working that night so that service was impeccable. We had wonderful salads and entrees and even dessert, which is unusual for us. The food was cooked to perfection and we... More

New Years Eve dinner. Everything was delicious from shaved Brussel sprouts through sea scallops and char to bread pudding and a lava cake. Extensive wine list. Quality service. Comfortable atmosphere. My only complaint, if you can call it that, is the building sign is so subtle it can barely be seen. Took a few tries to spot it. Would go... More

Thanks so much for all your kind comments regarding Passionfish. I would like you to know that the sign issue is due to lights that are currently not working properly. Unfortunately, the recent storms have shown us that our electrical system to the sign is no longer 'water tight'. We have new lights ordered and new electrical wires being properly... More

Two of the best dinner meals that I have eaten have been at this fabulous restaurant. In two visits, about a year apart, I was treated to fabulously fresh tastes and innovative presentations. In addition to the great food, the staff is quite friendly and accommodating. If you are on the Monterey Peninsula, this is a "must do."

Who constructs these outrageous flavor combinations? Ordered scallop appetizer. Scallop has mild, rich flavor, sadly completely masked by potent taste of chipotle relish. Ordered duck for main dish. Nicely prepared as confit and large serving, sadly drowned by sickly sweet sauce. Ordered hot tea but it was served lukewarm. Service was attentive. Atmosphere was just acceptable. High noise level, the... More

Ordered the sea scallop for an appetizer and the star of the show was the artichoke cake it came with! Ahi tuna was good, my friend had the lamb and said it was ok. Nice reasonable wine list, but not a lot by the glass. The biscuits were not what we expected; they weren't light and fluffy, but they were... More

I'm sorry that I didn't order the braised short ribs or lamb breast. I think they may have been more flavorful than the arctic char special which was bland, served over a flavorless nearly raw kohlrabi slaw. The mussel special was good, but have had better. The cucumber salad special was certainly that...copious cucumber slices, sweet and well seasoned/marinated over... More
