Sitting here full of incredible sushi. Been here several times. Always a great experience. I don't care if you come here. More room for me.

My husb & I have dinner at Yanagi's atleast once or twice a month. Seafood is VERY fresh. The Sexy Roll is our fave and always ask the chef to make it extra sexy by giving us extra sexy sauce! The servers recognize us and one in particular gets our stuffed shrimp app (that's no longer on the menu) started... More
We arrived around 6:30 to a smaller than average restaurant we picked based on proximity, reviews and price. The parking lot is small. I opted to parked further down the street. I lucked out that there was a table left. Right next to the portable air conditioner. The service was impeccable. Our water glasses were never less than half full.... More
We went on a Tuesday night at 6:00pm, hoping they had happy hour items like most sushi places but they don't. Small restaurant, quiet and the server we had was very nice. We had the standard miso soup, rice, edamame (hot with salt, yum) garden salad (my daughter doesn't eat fish so....) and all were very good. I ordered mackerel,... More
Yanagi is an excellent small sushi restaurant with a bistro feel, an expansive menu of sushi and cooked foods, and great service. The room is small, the restaurant is popular, and they don't take reservations -- at lunch and on weekday nights this is rarely a problem, but on weekend evenings you may have to wait (outdoors). There is a... More
They had a great variety of choices. well done sushi with fresh fish. wait staff were also very attentive. It was right down the street from the Best Western Galleria Inn at Redondo Beach. We went back the next night.
We've been eating sushi/sashimi for 30 years so we're hard graders. If you are a beginner/intermediate sushi dabbler or like to eat rolls and also like to eat sushi at a table, this place is for you. Fresh fish, solid presentation, nothing innovative. However, if you prefer to eat at the sushi bar and know what omakase means, this place... More
We hadn't planned on visiting Yanagi, but our cruise ship was delayed so we made the detour with friends who are particular about their sushi. They were impressed with the quality of this small restaurant, and we happily ordered the specials, and several rolls. Try the churashi.
Ordered take away twice during my 5 days stay in Redondo Beach. Would have eaten at the restaurant too but due to tired 9 months baby, we chose to take it home. Sushi was delicious, tasted absolutely wonderful and the staff's recommendations were the best we had. Prices are very good for the quality you get.
I'm not a sushi guy but Yanagi has lots of dishes that knock it out of the ballpark. They do excellent work with the tempura and basic sushi. But where they really excel is in some of their more complex dishes. For example they do cooked lobster pieces on top of sushi that is awesome. They also have great dishes... More
