Friends told us that Kyoto's had the best sushi ever - that words "The best ever" really peaked our curiosity. Maybe most of their customers and our friends have never had really good sushi before but I found this place as overall the worst sushi I've ever had. The taste of some of the rolls weren't right. The salmon was... More

Casual Japanese sushi place. Decor much like a Japanese Izakaya. Based on another review, I had the vegetarian sushi dinner. It is a nice amount of food for just $15. Two sets of rolls: tempura and cucumber and avocado. Four pieces: one Inari and three pickle rolls - not my favorite, but they are healthy. Miso soup and a small... More

Food = 5 stars Service = 2 Went in for late lunch (1:30) Atmosphere fine, 1/3 tables occupied, 2 servers. We were asked politely to wait "one moment"....after 15 minutes we were seated. ...another 15 minutes to receive menus. ...another 15 to take our order. ...another 20 for food to arrive. One of the things I value most in a restaurant is consistency. I like going out knowing I'll have a good meal and that's what I get with Kyoto. I tend to eat at weird times so whenever I go, it's usually really quiet which I enjoy. My husband and I split a big plate of different rolls and nigiri... More

Like a few other reviewers time goes by between visits to Kyoto and yet the quality of the food and the service never falls short. After eating there last night I think the menu selections have gone up a notch in flavor and presentation. Everything is so fresh and although the restaurant is small it seems more intimate and friendly.... More

This restaurant knows how to please! Annie, the owner, is almost always there and greets you warmly. Hot towels, edimame, along with generous portions. One of our family favorites!

I've been going to Kyoto for years! The food is fantastic. I usually order the box lunch which has a great combination of tempura, teriyaki chicken, rice, salad with out of this world dressing and miso soup! The owner is so sweet and always comes over to see how we are doing! You cannot go wrong!
