I had just finished up a grueling 18-mile hike at nearby Point Reyes. I needed fuel and craved Mexican food. I was actually searching for a different restaurant when this gem caught my eye. I knew right away when I stepped in and was greeted by a lovely hostess that stopping here was a wise decision. Overall I would give... More

We descended on this restaurant with a crowd of about 10 people. They quickly made room for us by pushing tables together. Everyone ordered something different, and the service was friendly and efficient. The people who ordered Tex Mex dishes said they were delcious and authentic. Didn't feel like Tex Mex, so had the Caesar Salad with shrimp added. It... More

Taco Jane’s is a highly reliable locally owned small restaurant that doesn’t miss. I strongly recommend the griddled plantains, sweet cole slaw, veggie quesadilla, salmon tacos, shrimp tostada, snapper burrito, grilled steak, and the flan. These are some of the best South of the Border dishes in Marin at cheap eats prices. Half the prices of Marinitas and better food.... More

Taco Jane's is one of our favorite local restaurants. The drinks are awesome, the salsa is delicious. We have also enjoyed coming here and it on our short list of favorite restaurants.

The food is just okay, nothing special. More importantly, on a recent visit, the owner or manager was quite rude, not sure who he is but I have seen him here for years. In response to a request for extra sauce for the fish taco, we were told we don't need or want more sauce. Really? Just charge for the... More

It was a birthday celebration so we returned with a friend to celebrate after a few previous good experiences... it was a mistake and a major disappointment! The restaurant (or should I say the waiter, Francisco) did not want to offer the advertised Yelp discount. We let it go after awhile since we were out to celebrate and wanted to... More

Mexican food in the U.S. is generally not the very best, yet Taco Jane's does a good job on the traditional dishes.

A small neighborhood restaurant with a mix of traditional and non-traditional Mexican fare, this place has been in our regular rotation for years. Staff are always friendly and pleasant and the food is reliable and consistent. Nothing particularly fancy but everything is fresh and tasty and not just the typical fare.
