As far as Mexican fast food was concerned the quality of the food here was very good. Most of the dishes that I have tried were flavoursome and light. Service level was typical of fast food places and acceptable. Have been to the branch in San Jose twice and very pleased that it's now in Embarcadero San Francisco as well... More

Worth a visit, good food, friendly staff and quick service. Good place for lunch. Try the fish burritos!

Met my family here while in town. I have been to plenty of Rubios this one was exceptional! Decor was upscale but still keeping with the beach theme. Fish tacos were delicious. Kids had burritos and eating outside was comfortable as was a visit from a one-legged bird begging for the few scraps of leftovers we had.

I have visited this location many times and tried the tacos & burritos. Today, I tried the California chicken bowl and it was very good! It had chicken, black beans, white rice, pico de gallo, & avocado. The avocado was fresh and I wished the entree came with chips I could eat it with it. I had a side of... More

We visited this fast food restaurant and loved the fish taco plate. A lovely fish taco plus retried beans and tortilla chips all for under $4. Extra sauces free. One fish aco plate was enough for a meal.

I had higher expectations of Rubio's than the experience offered. I had the fish tacos, but they certainly were not as good as the fish tacos we make at home. I believe that it was primarily the sauce — a bit too creamy without the spices and slight kick that we put into our homemade sauce. The whole place was... More

This is your fairly basic Mexican quick service restaurant. The service was attentive. The food came quickly and they stopped by a couple of times to ask me if everything was good and to clear the dishes. The place looks clean. The food was decent (I had the Burrito Special with Chicken). Overall, a good experience

The first restaurant was opened in 1983 in San Diego by Ralph Rubio and his father, Ray, who started the fish taco phenomenon that spread across the nation. Today, Rubio’s menu has grown from The Original Fish Taco® to include additional chef-crafted seafood recipes that feature shrimp, wild salmon and ono. In addition to sustainable seafood, Rubio’s offers chargrilled chicken and steak, fresh made guacamole and salsas and sauces that are prepared daily.
