As out of towers, we stumbled upon Japantown and Omogari! Both were gems indeed! Japantown is a vintage, quaint neighborhood tucked in a residential neighborhood in San Jose! It was completely unexpected. We drove down Jackson Street until we agreed on a restaurant...Omogari! It was quiet and we were seated rapidly. Everyone was very friendly and service was excellent. The... More

Parking is hit or miss. Restaurant is smallish and kinda crowded with tables. Food is pretty good. Lots of spicy choices. We don't recommend the seafood soup, chewy.

We both had bibimbab: one with beef and one with tofu. We loved them both and the same can be said for the appetizers which came along with the main dishes. The service was nice and fast although the place was quite full.

Had the bi bim bap and it was excellent! Soft tofu soup was rated high by my sister. Great taste and restaurant was still busy when we left. People kept coming in. A must try when in San Jose.

Looking for great Korean food - stop in here! But ... not on a Sunday - the family deserves a day off after all so they are closed Sundays. But any other day - the food is fantastic. Love the spicy chicken ... seafood pancake gives me cravings! Usually pretty busy so we prefer to call in and get take-away... More

This place is tucked near the edge of Japantown near downtown San Jose, an unlikely location for a Korean restaurant (especially since the majority of Korean businesses are situated in Santa Clara/Sunnyvale along El Camino Real just a few miles north). But this place does some decent food, here are some quick pros and cons: Pros: Good selection of Korean... More

The service was prompt and attentive. The server even mixed my rice pot for me! The food is well-seasoned, served hot and spiced perfectly (not too spicy). The spicy seafood rice pot was a welcome treat and a delicious change of pace. The spicy pork plate is a must try! The side dishes are a good variety. The broccoli and... More

Excellent place very authentic service was excellent and the staff very engaging - we arrived just before the rush hour - if we had to wait it was well worth the wait. Atmosphere is simple and typical family owned from the old country and not over priced! Kimchee Great!

it was my first time in Japantown, and will surely not be my last.. as someone who has to handle work in San Jose, this area of the city was literally a "breath of fresh air".. i knew from the aroma in the air, that the food inside would be great.. this is a "shared food" type of spot, so... More

We have been here several times and today we went for lunch. We ordered a large saki and bento boxes for lunch today. For my bento box, I ordered the combination of 1) Sashimi, 2) California Roll, and 3) Chicken Teriyaki. It comes with Miso Soup, salad, and rice. My husband for his bento box ordered 1) Tempura, 2) Fried... More
