This is my favorite Japanese restaurant for Japanese food. Like real entree food, like you would get in Japan. I have been here many times and NEVER had sushi. Always order off the whiteboard at the front of the restaurant and you wont be disappointed. this place is VERY small and has many tables for 2, not so many for... More

I have hard time to find a good tako (octopus) salad or any appetizer that have raw sliced octopus. Kaita has it! The last one I had was in NYC. I also like their Daily Menu Special. Their Hamachi kama is good too.

I love these little "mom and pop" restaurants in Japan Town......and this one, Kaita has been in business for quite a long time. The food is typical Japanese (no fusion dishes here) and the serving sizes are large. The wait staff is attentive, speak Japanese, and , although, the place can be busy, they are very professional.

We got invited by my cousin to this small hole in the wall Japanese place. We had some sushi which is no big thing and even a bit small. On there special's menu we tried the very good deep fried baby octopus and pork cheeks which were good. Then had the teriyaki beef which was very good too. To top... More

Located at Jackson street, at Japan town, I went in and I got last empty seat the place is tiny and servers were hustling ,it was very busy. I had #8 from the menu. Food was average and the price can gouge deep in your pocket.

Right in the heart of downtown. I guess they call this area Japanese town. Plenty of Japanese places to choose from, but this one was the busiest and cheapest. It might be tough to get a seat, but as a single I was able to sit at the mini bar. The food is great and price not to bad.

On a recent business trip to San Jose, my associates wanted to go to this local restaurant for lunch. It was a small place and very crowded with locals who seemed to know one another. The service and food were both good. The mosi soup was quite tasty. The prices were extremely reasonable,

Being Japanese, I can tell you that this food is absolutely wonderful and actually tastes like true Japanese Food. Everything was so delicious and the whole meal was extremely memorable and enjoyable. I also recommend going to the little grocery store down Jackson street! They had lots of Japanese foods, including an icecream I used to eat all the time... More

When I think sushi I think sushi-ya and having a conversation with the individual preparing my order. Besides a chef not prepared to give me the time of day and mediocre fish... this place is a definite miss.
