Returned again. Service was excellent as was the dinner. Free parking around the back. One of few places that still make souffles. Is pricey but worth it for a special night out.

The place is mediocre, and from a pricey steakhouse you expect more. Service was good but the stakes were not done properly,. The desserts are ok, though you can find the same in any mid range restaurants. If you want a good value for money,...More

We did a visit while on business trip, so wanted to have a delicious steak. No one told us that steaks have some default side dishes and we had to order extra one (wild mushrooms) which were served when steaks were almost done. So, we...More

On our last night in San Mateo, my sister, her son and his wife and I splurged and treated ourselves to a steak dinner at Porterhouse. We opted for the fixed prix option and we were very happy with our selections. Medium filet however means...More

Went there for a hosted medical presentation. At the entrance to the restaurant, there were hanging porterhouse sections being aged in see-through window view. Given the prix fixed hosted menu, I was only able to order a rib-eye steak, but not the porterhouse cut. Thus,...More

Had the limited Prime Rib, which was okay, but not good enough considering the price. The twice baked potato was the highlight of the meal, and even though it was a very good potato, it shouldn't outshine the meat. Waiter was nice, and the interior...More

The steaks was surprisingly mediocre, well below what I'd expect for the price they're charging. However, the double baked potato the steaks was served with was fantastic, and our server was nice. The location might be noisy for some people.

The food was good, but very overpriced. Soup or salad is extra. Known for the steaks, they were very good. We didn't have a very good waiter, which made or evening unpleasant. A waiter from another area of the restaurant heard our grandson get fussy...More
