Everyone raves about this place, and yes, the flavours are on full-display. But it's largely cafe-fare with little-to-no originality. perhaps it's just that it's a Puerto Rican restaurant in the midst of 10-12 Mexican restaurants? But whatever, it's good, just not crazy about it.

Over rated! Food is Ok. Nothing special. Would I eat here again? Maybe but not soon. I ordered the Pollo Al Horno. It was alright. Not cheap.

There has been much talk about this restaurant but show me! Well, show me they did. We ordered the plantain chips, & the cold chicken salad. I wasn't expecting much. The chips were served with a white sauce and crunchy, a thin and cripsy alternative to the corn tortillas chips and much healthier. My chicken salad was served with avocado... More

3.0 I've heard rave reviews of this place. I ordered the chicken, black beans, and rice. Overall it was nice, but I was hoping for more taste...it wasn't anything different or special...it was,you know, a staple dish with no flare. Which was fine. I also wish I only ordered 1 piece versus 2 on top of that. The greens were... More

Tasty food, inviting & casual environment. I'm just a little bit transported to Puerto Rico when I go to Sol Food, especially the San Rafael location.

I love Cuban food and until a good Cuban restaurant opens nearby in Mill Valley, this Puerto Rican gem is great.

Had serveral meals there. not one worth remembering. If you like your meats dry, go there. Maybe their vegetarian food is better but I'm not going back.

Cozy, quaint local restaurant with authentic foods. Great plantains! Loved the combinations of foods offered. Nothing extremely fancy, but good comfort types of foods---rice & beans, plantains, avocado. Order at counter and foods delivered to table. Hope to go again sometime.

I wish this restaurant were in my town, because I would be a regular. Tender chicken, tasty pork chops, and the best sweet plantains I've ever eaten. Casual atmosphere. Just needs more tables!

Came here with a group of ten friends from across the bay for Puerto Rican meal. Some of us ordered one the specials of the day, which consisted of shredded pork, rice, with gandules or pigeon peas, black beans and tostones. or fried green platains. One ordered a sandwich made with french bread and chicken and pressed on a panini... More
