One of the few remaining old SB establishments but it still feels fresh and fun. Food is amazing (onion rings!!), staff attentive with a retro (though in this case just who they've always been) vibe and lively bar scene after dinner.

Locals visit this restaurant on a regular basis. Seems to be always crowded but tables/booths/counter are available. This restaurant serves all meals and has a full bar. Fast service and tasty comfort food. TV's mounted in several areas for sports or news.

I had the steak and eggs. The steak was cooked just how I like it. The service person read my face and gave me exactly the drink I wanted minus prompting. You can see the history in this place and it's definitely worth going in...More

We were on holiday from Scotland and this is exactly what I was looking for from an American diner. The food was excellent and the service very pleasant. I recommend the chilli, brisket sandwich and cherry pie, delicious.

I checked the online menu and it doesn't look like Sweetbreads are offered. That said it may be available as a special. I'd call and ask.

Joe's Cafe, a venerable Santa Barbara dining and drinking institution, is the oldest restaurant in the city. Over the years, it has become a favorite for locals and tourists alike, who mingle over cocktails or chat during dinner in a buzzing, traditional atmosphere. The exceptional ambiance underscores its rich heritage and long history. Our menu is hand crafted, modern American favorites in generous portions. Diners can find everything from prime steaks and chops, savory lamb shank, market fresh seafood and vegetables, classic sandwiches, pastas, daily soups, burgers, vegetarian entrees, and salads.
