A week prior, I made a reservation at the Harbor Restaurant for my husband's birthday -- 7 family members, a celebration. 90 minutes before our arrival time, the restaurant called me to cancel: they had overbooked. We were in a theatre event at the time,...so the call went to voicemail. I retrieved the message 30 minutes before arrival -- we were literally driving to the restaurant -- and called them. Excuse me? really? "Yeah, we're sorry." Ruined the evening. Amazing, incredible, RUDE, unbusiness-like. Do not patronize them.More

This place has a great location and wonderful views. We had concerns about cleanliness though. It really needs a good cleaning which made us wonder about how clean things were in the kitchen. As well, we watched the bartender handle used glasses by sticking his...fingers into the used glasses and then make new drinks, handle limes and place them in drinks, etc. We sat inside upstairs which is open to the deck…. This meant we had flies (and pigeons) around our table. I’d give the food a 4 out of 10. Our onion rings tasted like they were cooked in old oil and the fish tacos were underwhelming. I recommend going somewhere else.More

Total dump! Popped in just for a drink and the place smelled and was filthy. Bathrooms were littered with garbage and no tp. Only the upstairs was open and it was also dirty. Skip this place and head into the Funk Zone instead.

It's always so disappointing to eat at a touristy restaurant to experience less than stellar food. We came to Santa Barbara from Simi Valley for a couple of days. I believe restaurants like this don't realize how many people come for the day or two...from other close-by communities. A successful tourist restaurant caters to the locals not the tourists. It was not very busy on the afternoon we were there and it did not take me long to see all the problems around me. 3 tables sent food back and the poor waitress was forever apologizing to her customers. I've been a waitress so I know the stress of being on the frontlines and dealing with a unattentive kitchen. First mistake I made was ordering the oysters; they charged $24.95 for 6 oysters. They were all different sizes, not that great and one was not even an oyster. I had to ask for a replacement. This was the first restaurant we ate at while we were in Santa Barbara and after seeing other menus in town, these oysters were by far the most expensive!! We also decided to share some chicken wings which were very well done, dry, with only drummettes, no flats. The waitress was great, the location is lovely but I would stick with the drink menu and eat somewhere else.More

The food was great and I really enjoyed the views. We had the fish and chips and cheeseburger. The portions were pretty big. Our server was very friendly and service was fast. We were there on a Saturday at noon and we were able to...get a table right away. Next time, I'll come for dinner and see what kind of fresh seafood they've got on the menu.More

This restaurant is located on Stearn's Wharf at the harbor, which is pretty touristy, but it still manages to deliver good food and good service at a reasonable price. It is the first restaurant on the pier. Weather permitting, get a table on the second...floor outdoor patio, which provides a great view of the beaches and harbor.More

Went there with a big family group. The staff was great with such a large group. Excellent service, excellent food, great menu, prices were reasonable. Casual attire is fine and the space is very open. The wine list was not extensive but is very good,...and there is a full bar.More

Views can't be beat. But the food can. My spouse ordered fried fish, red snapper, that was undercooked, with undercooked fries. Cole slaw and salad was so bland , less than average.

This is the ideal place for a great dinner in Santa Barbara. Located on the pier. There is parking. Seafood is fresh and delicious. Try the cheesy bread and clam chowder. It’s the perfect setting as the sun goes down. Children are welcome. Oh and...there is a full bar and great bartender. Service is excellent.More

We sat down just in time to watch the sunset - which didn't disappoint! Although the fish looked good both myself and friend ordered the filet. Both steaks were cooked perfectly, very tender and delicious. For a side I had the spicy green beans -...slightly over-cooked to my tastes and my friend had asparagus - which she said was delicious. Our waiter - Herman (I think) - was very attentive and even gave a little Flamenco dance to my friend who was celebrating her birthday!More

We always stop for lunch traveling down from S.F. to Orange County. We love to sit outside over the water and enjoy the fabulous view of the harbor and the mountain range. The food is always delicious.

The staff was friendly. We settled for the downstairs area since the wife was a little cold. They do offer second-floor seating but I believe its a different menu. We decided to split a lobster roll and when the waiter came without food he had...two plates with plenty of sides as if we ordered two separate plates. Nice! Because it sits on the pier the view was beautiful. Someone was walking around without a mask and the staff asked them to put one on. The decor was a little dated but clean.More

The views gere are amazing! The food was good and our service was acceptable. I'm not sure if they were short staffed because they were just opening and busier than expected, but our server just seemed overwhelmed. He was very nice though. We had an...enjoyable time.More

This is the place the locals avoid. Sure, it's in a super location, but that never guarantees you good food--and it doesn't. Go anywhere (not Moby Dick's, either) else than here. Ask them about their history with the local Health Department. Sadly, the owner has...several restaurants in town and I try very hard to avoid them all because of my experiences with the Harbor. Try the FisHouse--it's close and gets SIX stars.More
