The people giving this place high ratings have no palate or are pawns. To say this place is good is as big of a stretch as saying California is on the East Coast. The $32 halibut special I had tonight was so dry it was inedible. My friend unfortunately ordered the scallops which tasted the same as the shredded Brussel... More

Located inside the Hotel Paradox (Marriott Autograph Collection property), this trendy spot has an innovative twist on familiar dishes. The clam chowder came with clams in the shell, bread/flatbread came with a horseradish cheese spread, and the iceberg lettuce wedge was adorned in crisp shallots. Chef sent an amuse bouche as well, that had lovely flavors - can't tell you... More

This is at the Hotel Paradox and we had breakfast 2 mornings. The food was great and the service was wonderful. The menu looked great for dinner, but we were busy all day and night. Only got to visit the bar for night caps. Great selection and the bartenders were just a great bunch of fun!!

By far the best meal I ate in Santa Cruz was the restaurant Solaire in the Hotel Paradox. New menu was released Friday and was innovative and varied. The octopus starter was incredible, as was the pear butterscotch pudding dessert. I had the sirloin as my main and my girlfriend had the pork tenderloin. Cocktails were also unreal. Highly recommend... More

Everything I ate during my stay was great, whether from the restaurant or bar menu. Fine cocktails and local beers are available. One of the best places to eat in Santa Cruz.

The hotel was so disappointing we were excited that the dining experience was so good. I had steak and local vegetables. The steak was perfect and the vegetables were so fresh and delicious.

Well the look of this space is all about modern, minimal, LA vibe. But this is Santa Cruz and it feels a little stilted. The food looked interesting and I got an Ahi poke but the ahi was that strange color you see at lesser markets (food coloring?). Dressing was almost non-existant and the two chips served with it hardly... More

Wasn't really impressed with this place. very limited menu, Appetizers were way overpriced. Prices were high also for dinner, which we decided not to have and just ordered the appetizers. Food did taste really good but just wasn't that impressed. Service was ehh, could have been a bit more on the ball. I would not return.
