I usually order lamb because I love it and just can't find good lamb where I live. Also we always order taramosalata. The staff kindly accommodates gluten free and brings us veggies to dip instead of pita. Owner Julie White is almost always around to greet us, making sure things are running smoothly and the food prep is top notch.... More

I try to eat at Vasili's whenever I am in Santa Cruz. Their Lamb is always great whether you get Arno Pisito, Lamb Kebobs, Souvlaki, or a Pita Sandwich real roasted lamb not processed Gyro meat. Greek Chicken and Fish entrees are also available on the menu. Great Salads and Soups and friendly service. Located on the west side of... More

I ordered the lamb Souvlaki plate and I wasn't all that impressed with it. There was a good portion of lamb meat that was somewhat tender but not very moist and it did not seem to have any seasoning on it. Maybe that's the way it's supposed to be. I opted not to have the rice but asked for extra... More

After driving south from Half Moon Bay, we stumbled on Vasili's. Small restaurant. Not fancy but nice. Cook and wait staff efficient and friendly. By hearing conversations, many of the diners are regulars. Parking on this main thoroughfare is at a premium. We parked at McDonald's next door and walked across the street. Wary to suggest a Greek restaurant to... More

We stopped for lunch after visiting Natural Bridges State Park. We enjoyed our food and tasted some great new items. The appetizers were delicious! We had spanikopita, lamb gyros, and taramosalata the red caviar. We were traveling with 2 preschoolers so we were pretty hard to handle but the waitress did a great job.

Visited this restaurant on a weekday. Ordered the lamb kabob plate which came with a large fresh salad, which was very tasty, a small amount of rice ( just right for a lunchtime plate) and a type of flatbread which was soft and flavorful. The restaurant is unpretentious and casual. Quality of the kabob was good. I recommend as a... More

Stopped in here while driving thru Santa Cruz. The food is very good, although the lamb was a little dry. So much food on my plate I couldn't eat it all. The staff was very nice and the prices were not bad. If I ever make it back to Santa Cruz, I definitely will eat here again.

My husband, daughter, and I stopped here for lunch on our way to UCSC. The ambiance is simple, casual, clean, and with the appearance that it has been around for a long time. The food was exceptionally good, as compared to other Greek restaurants I have visited. We all had the lamb gyro, although my daughter and I had it... More

I am a big fan of Greek food as I always attend the Greek festival in Santa Cruz. I was getting hungry as I was about to leave Santa Cruz. I saw the sign for Vasili's so I gave it try. I ordered the lamb gyro. I did not have to wait long. Boy, the gyro was very good. I... More

We needed to find a restaurant for lunch that was close to the UC Santa Clara campus and selected Vasili's because of its reviews. It's a very informal, family style restaurant. The servings were generous, the staff was friendly, and the food was good quality. The location isn't the best as parking is a bit difficult.
