This is a great locals' spot. Their breakfast menu is very American. I would always recommend this place to friends who visit Santa Cruz. We've had many, many great breakfasts at this place.

Firstly, there are only a couple of places to grab an American breakfast and lunch in downtown Santa Cruz. Other breakfast places are either ethnic or hippyish, although there is also another fine bakery serving similar fare (Hoffman's). Secondly, the food is very tasty, the staff are familiar faces (i.e., they've been there for quite a while which means they... More

The food and the service is consistently good. It's right off of Pacific Avenue and a great place to either start the day or have a easy lunch. It gets busy fast. Well known among locals as a great place downtown.

Cute little cafe right off of the main street in Santa Cruz. Really great waffles and great staff. Fresh squeezed orange just and the best French toast. Always busy and parking requires payment at a meter.

This is my favourite breakfast/brunch spot in downtown Santa Cruz. Always excellent food and friendly service. It is packed with locals all morning and into the afternoon, with a lively warm atmosphere. Really good value for money. Try the tofu scramble and eggs florentine.

I thought I'd already written about this place and was surprised to see it pop up in my list. I tend to visit for breakfast, so I've had more of that here than anything else, and it's always good. I love their omelettes. They're big, hot, and full of whatever goodness you want. The place does tend to be busy,... More

Atmosphere From what I remember of the décor, it was quite homey. Fake plants and vines trailing about and whatnot. Pretty and comfortable. It's a popular place so there's a lot of people but our party of two was seated right away. Crowd Some of the older patrons were a little strange and kept looking at my friend and I... More

Sometimes waiting for a table is a good thing. They are busy because they are good. Good service, very good food. We were in Santa Cruz for a week and returned for breakfast several times.

My husband and I experienced a very nice lunch here on our last day in Santa Cruz. We were referred here by friends and found it to be a special little place with a great atmosphere, terrific food, and friendly & efficient staff. There are several outside tables and a much larger interior than you'd expect. The inside is decorated... More
