I was walking around downtown Santa Cruz and came upon the Falafel House. Having spent some time in the Middle East, I was keen to try the place. Upon entering I was ecstatic to see that it was owned by Syrians. I recognized several of the places in pictures on the walls. Damascus has been my favorite place I have... More

This is the best falafel place in town, and a bit of a local secret. Great gyros, shawarma, pepper steak, and burgers too! And the fries - I don't know what they do - I usually avoid eating french fries but theirs are irresistible. They have the best tabbouleh I've ever had anywhere, and I haven't found anything on the... More

Falafel should be crispy on the outside, and soft inside. Many places can't get it right. This place does, and has a nice menu and is a cute place off of Pacific Ave. Great for a cheap yummy Middle Eastern food fix.

...what more can you ask for? Only in a college town, something like this will thrive. Mediterranean/middle eastern flavours at an affordable price. The food is authentically prepared. I love the lamb combo plate. This was one of our go to places when we lived in Downtown SC.

This is a place you can always get excellent quality very generous qualities for a great value. It is my go to place for falafels and Gyros. There are many choices but this is downtown and very easy to pop into and get dinner to go.

I don't know why I don't come here more often, but my previous visit proved that I should put it at the top of my list. My gyro platter was simply amazing. I learned to ask for my gyro meat to be extra crispy. This was to go, so I got some Tzatziki sauce at New Leaf and took this... More

Possibly the worst falafel I have ever had. There are extras, but the falafel I have ever had, it was so dry no amount of hummas or dressing could help me swallow it.

I've been eating felafel and gyros (what's the plural of gyros?) at this place since it opened. (It was previoiusly an ice cream place, many years ago.) The lunch I often get is a gyros or felafel with fries and and a drink. And I ask for some "red sauce," which is harissa. The harissa is great with fries....better than... More

I've been eating at Falafel House since they opened years ago. The owner is from Syria and very nice. They have a nice variety of meat and vegetarian dishes.

We were a party of three. We ordered two gyro plates and one chicken fajita pita sandwich. The food was ok but nothing to rave about. The service was horrific! The young lady who waited on us was rude and hostile. I asked if we could turn on the overhead fans and she told me "no," and replied, just open... More
