I've not been to Johnny's in awhile, but when I was there (December), it was really good. More on the pricey side, but truly enjoyable.

Casual, fun dining. Smaller restaurant in a great location overlooking harbor boats. Delicious ahi tuna on seaweed salad appetizer. Fresh and tasty salad and sliced ginger. Then we split the fish and chips which were nicely battered and very clean and fresh. We each had a local beer on tap. So nice to not be at the crowded boardwalk, yet... More

Had a small caesar salad to start, along with one of the draught beers. I ordered the shrimp scampi, and was presented with a large plate with some pasta in the middle surrounded by large, blackened shrimp. They were very good, the sauce did not overpower, but added to the flavor. Part of this location is the location. It overlooks... More

A sunny Saturday noon, window table for four. Great view of the yacht harbor was the best part of the dining experience. Three of us had fish tacos and one a breakfast omelette. I was assured the fish was grilled, not breaded and fried. Turns out Johnny's uses whatever bits are left over from the fillets for the fish tacos.... More

and they do seafood very well - fresh and delicious - well prepared with something for every taste in fish and seafood. This low-key restaurant overlooks the harbor. Service is friendly and professional, and the portions are ample. Some traditional dishes and some imaginative creations. What's not to like?

We're locals. We usually go on Fridays. It can get a little crowded and a bit slow on peak nights like Saturday. Great selection of all types of fresh seafood. Known for their fish tacos, but everything is good. Reasonable prices. Pretty good bar. Bottom line: if you want fresh local seafood, go to Johnny's, it is better than any... More

Brunch on a Sunday on the way back from Carmel. Honestly, I think their brunch menu is my favorite of anywhere else - at all - from Carmel to San Francisco. There is anything you could possibly want! The food was amazing. I tried fresh halibut ... with asian prep. It was to die for ... will be craving again... More

We had dinner and as always, the food and service were great. Many fresh seafood selections and several choices for preparation. This is a simple menu but the choices are all good. This is a casual restaurant and is very comfortable with a great view of the Santa Cruz Harbor. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

We went for an early dinner at Johnny's Harborside. We had a nice table with views of the harbor area. We enjoyed drinks. I had a cosmo and my husband had a glass of Cab Franc. For dinner, we shared an ahi poke appertizer which was very good. For dinner, I had mussels. My husband had a tasty sand dab... More

Lunch with the family and my only complaint is that this place is pricey. Fish tacos were tasty and big portions. Sand dab sandwiches were also good, but I have had better. Crab stuffed tempura avocado was ok. Little crab and big price. Beer, wine and drink list. Service was ok and the restaurant itself is tacky. View of the... More
