Quite pricey, but good quality food and service. Almost everything on the menu looks good. If the prices were a bit more reasonable, I would have given the reastaurant 5 stars.

A amazing find by the ocean. Good wine and cocktail selection. Excellent, freshly prepared seafood. Good for couples, families and friends. The service was attentive without being overbearing. Highly recommended.

Poor, mediocre food, served lukewarm by indifferent staff. Overpriced as well. Very disappointing, avoid.

Casual, beach-side venue...a no frills setting (e.g., silverware and brown paper napkins in small tin buckets on the table). Cocktails were generous (they gave my wife a small carafe w. extra vodka for her martini), and we enjoyed large portions of good ingredients , simply, well-prepared. Our oysters were delicious, and the soft shell crab featured a crispy cornmeal crust... More

The fancy-pants oysters were average at best. The "medium rare" salmon was soggy instead of seared. The boiled-and-not-grilled lobster was ok. They must've forgot to microwave the "warm" chocolate cake because it was as cold as the ice cream it came with. The ambiance is neither beachy nor romantic, with as little light as a basement. Needless to say the... More

The seafood was fresh and delicious. We really enjoyed the ceviche and their made to order guacamole. Happy hour specials are pretty amazing too.

I attended a private party here so we were in the upstairs event room. Beautiful room with view of the ocean, comfy chairs, large table, fireplace. We had several courses and each one was better than the next. Ceviche, fish taco, whole fish, crab, sashimi, a grilled steak...everything was just incredibly good. A queso appetizer was just OK, it cooled... More

9 of us dined here tonight, so many different things were ordered. One was good, several fine, others just didn't make the cut. Overall the odds of getting a great meal here was slim to none on this night. Best order was the lobster roll, bun was buttered and grilled for a nice crunch, and plenty of lobster piled on....but... We visited this restaurant as a Time Out LA recommendation for Eastern Brunch. No parking space or valet. The place is simple and dark. The service was slow but the food was delicious.

The Hungry Cat Santa Monica Canyon, our third location, sits on the PCH with amazing views of the Pacific Ocean. Chef/owner David Lentz & crew continue to focus on high quality fish paired with the best locally sourced ingredients, often from nearby farmer's markets. The 13 seat raw bar showcases Pacific and Atlantic oysters, Santa Barbara sea urchin, raw and marinated fish dishes, crab and lobster.

The market-inspired bar specializes in seasonal cocktails, craft brews and a wine list geared toward seafood.
