I decided last minute to cook on New Year's Eve. So I rushed down to Santa Monica Seafood to buy lobster. In and out in 20 minutes even though it was mobbed. Lobster was heavenly of course. Picked up some salmon too, equally fabulous.

I love this place and as soon as we touch down from London drive staright over there for a gumbo or champagne and salmon snack. The array and diversity of the fish is tremendoous. Just look at the pics of famous chefs who use the produce daily. I always get the Ahi Tuna, Monkfish, Scallops, Salmon, Squid and whatever exotic... More

Sorry to say this restaurant was a great disappointment. We thought being a seafood store all would be fresh and delicious but found different. The two dishes we had, Seafood Pasta and the Scallops were both tasteless and seem to lack freshness. The white wine sauce was bland and the scallops in a blueberry sauce was equally without distinctive taste.... More

The finest seafood, both fresh for cooking at home and in-house dining, frankly in a world of oceans. Family owned for almost 80 years, purveyor of seafood to the stars, and fish-loving folks and top chefs alike, come in for a bite or a feast.

Ordered half a dozen oysters, calamari fritty as starters and the seafood pasta as main. Getting service took a while. The waiter advized well on oysters and made a nice combo from three different regions. He forgot my starter, but delivered it later and was sincerally appologizing even in between after the event. The calamari not seem to get special... More

We had dinner here last night. The food was good. The restaurant is also a retail seafood shop. Prices are on the high side.

We have visited this wonderful gem 3 times now. Always fabulous! Today having Fusilli Seafood Pasta and Lobster Linguini (after oysters on the half shell). A "must visit".

Had a seafood pasta and a beer at $40 including tip. The food was tasty; service was good. The place is also a seafood market where you can buy fish and shellfish

It was so good we ate here Saturday and Sunday nights! The restaurant area occupies a small part of the store which mostly sells fresh fish and a variety of salads, beers, wines, and cheeses. So getting a seat at peak times may mean you have to wait. Every starter or main course we tried was good. However, I strongly... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
