The restaurant was not that busy and there were several servers and sushi chefs working when the 3 of us arrived for a late lunch. However, they rarely seemed to come by our table. Then, when I saw that everyone got salads with their meals, I asked to get the larger box lunch (~$25) so that I too could get... More

This is a restaurant that offers good value, but not great quality. It's like eating at an ordinary deli, but with sushi food. Way too many menus, lots of distracting TV screens and a messy atmosphere. My first thought was that Whole Food's sushi take out is far superior than anything in Kimuya's menu. Service was OK, a bit distracted... More

Sushi prices were far better than expected, was anticipating spending more than we did. Everything was excellent, service was awesome, staff super friendly.

You'll have better sushi and service at a supermarket. Not worth the trip to Santa Monica. The menu is much different once you get to the there.

I've been here several times and the service was excellent. They have a happy hour from 4 - 11 pm and the prices are very reasonable. I tried the BSC roll, Spicy tuna tempura roll and the crispy rice with spicy tuna . The best deal is the dinner bento box - 3 main entrees for $16.95 - I had... More

I went for a late lunch, place veritably empty, sat at the sushi bar. Server was polite, fish looked fresh and of good quality. The sushi cuts were large and very tasty; the rice proportionally small. I had 7 orders of sushi, 1 roll, and one beer for just over $32 w/ tax, well worth it! AYCE Sunday for $35!!

Came here around 4pm and it was empty and didn't expect much but sushi was really quite good and good value. Would return for a quick, casual sushi. Service was good (though there was no one else to serve). Recommended

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
