We took our daughter and her partner to Melisse when we visited california last month. The restaurant is beautifully decorated , service was unobtrusive and professional and the food was delicious. We really enjoyed it and they were helpful about food allergies. the restaurant is expensive but worth every penny

So I take my girlfriend out for her birthday to Melisse weeks ago. The ambiance was ok and the food, was on the very smaller portion side but still very tasty, The "bad taste in my mouth" that lingers to today is how can a bill for two at the minimum $300 also have added on a 3% to "help"... More

This restaurant is a prize for everyone who enters, even with all the hot new restaurants popping up around it. Chef Josiah Citrin and his kitchen staff consistently serve up some of the best fine dining in all of L.A.. So if you've got the company card, or you've saved up for that special/romantic dinner, or maybe you can just... More

World class fine-dining. Deserves 3 Michelin Stars. Get the 10 or the Carte Blanche menu. Wine pairings too. Staggeringly-good food. When I see other restaurants being lauded on this site - it makes me not want to ever come back here for a reference. Ridiculous that anybody with a laptop can be a reviewer. This restaurant is terrific. Best in... More

We sat in our table and found a "Happy Anniversary" card with 2 small gift boxes that had truffles in it, way to make us feel special! Until you look around and noticed everyone else got it too because they're also celebrating a special occasion lol. Then began our 2.5-hr experience where we got to appreciate artistic food and be... We booked the evening with United Airlines. From start to finish, this dinner experience was out of this world. Each course was wine paired with special wines from David wines. Mr and Mrs Guy Davis joined us at our table for dinner. Thank you to United Airlines, the restaurant, the chef and the winery.

We come to Melisse a couple of times a year. Against very tough competition, it remains our #1 favorite restaurant in Greater Los Angeles. Service is impeccable, food is superb, ambiance is romantic, with understated elegance. The sommelier not only knows his stuff. He even remembers what we ordered on our previous visits (or maybe it's stored on computer ...... More

We had a wonderful birthday dinner here w/ my family. It is a lovely, serene, grown up dining. Everyone made us feel like it was a special meal & they all seemed to love working there & were excited about the food. It is sophisticated dining for sure, lots of interesting choices, tasting menus if you want, game & truffle... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
