I know it's hard to believe but I have made it 45 years without ever going to Benihana! We took our kids ages 7and 9 for a small birthday dinner on a Monday night and it was truly great. We all had fun watching our chef prepare our food and the food was actually really good. :) I honestly did... More

We had a special family dinner here and it was delightful. The staff were wonderful and the food was amazing. It was heaps of fun for our boys (aged 8 and 6) to see the food cooked in front of us. I loved it too. While expensive, this dinner was a very special occasion and every single won of us... More

The wait time was less than five minutes. The food was superb and the knife show was fun and entertaining. I like the idea that you get to see two shows of knife and utensil displays from the host that is serving you and the one behind him. The portions that are prepared and served are generous. The food is... More

See my prior reviews. The family likes coming here for special occasions. The show is always interesting, and fascinating to our younger guests. The menu is extensive and the vegetarians we invite can find food they can eat (although their food must be cooked first). Benihana graciously accommodated our vegetarians. Pay parking is available across the street in a public... More

My family and I gathered together to celebrate my Dad's 70th birthday! I thought this restaurant would be great for a large group with children. I remember coming when I was younger and being amazed by the showmanship of the chef. However, our chef was pretty lack luster and basically just cooked the food. Although the food was good and... I normally go to the benihana in Torrance but my cousin had a birthday at the new benihana in santa monica. Very slow service and cook was not enthused. I kept having to tell him cook my food longer everyone we're in a rush to go home and the waitress kept rushing me to pay, did not care about the... More

Benihana is a good go to chain for Teppanyaki. They have a good happy hour until about 6pm to grab food and drinks while you wait.

The fomula of Benihana is quite fun. The cooking is made on a grill plate in front of the guest with some exciting move by the cook. The quality of the food is very basic but price is honest. Overall a nice experience especially for events like birthdays

Business dinner was fine. I expected more of the facility due to the prices. Plus, I have been to other much nicer locations of the same chain. When people go to chains it's because they are looking for consistency in product, service, and experience and they trust the brand to do this. The interior looked dirty and dated. Please be... Never come to the USA without a visit to my favourite restaurant chain. Always reliable, tasty, value for money and a bit of entertainment. Been coming to Benihana for many many years and have never had a bad meal or time. Go there!

Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
