Unassuming location along Wilshire- and several blocks from the Oceanfront Santa Monica area with its pricey restaurants. Street Parking-watch the signs- fill the meters to avoid expensive parking tickets Simple sushi bar with maybe 12-14 seats and about 6 to 8 little tables. They open around 5 or 5:30 and definitely get there early or wait The sushi is incredibly... More

There can be a short wait, but generally, you can find a seat at the sushi bar quickly, and the sushi is absolutely excellent. The chefs are Japanese, and they know sushi, not the Asian who looks Japanese who says, "it's all good," when you ask what's good today. The cuts are actually a bit too big for my taste,... More

Sushi King is on Wilshire Bl. And 14th St. In Santa Monica in a very unassuming spot. In fact,if you weren't looking for it chances are you might walk past it. It is owned and operated by Seito-San,who has been in this location for over 30 years. The bar holds about 15 spots and there are 4-5 tables. The interior... More

Never go late Sunday as the good fish will be going or gone. And the staff had a fight over our (disappearing) order. Attitudes were on display and this should not happen in a Japanese establishment.

This restaurant offers really good quality sushis made with super fresh and tasty fish, including amazing Toro. This is not at all a fancy place but still very pleasant. Service is very friendly and efficient. Recommended without a doubt!

Fish is very fresh and the rolls are to die for! Can eat there every day! Service is really good. It is a gem that is not too known and hopefully it will stay this way.

It has been years since my last visit to this spot. When I needed to find a sushi place I remembered how good this was. Well I was absolutely correct. Delicious sushi, great cold green bean salad and wonderful wait staff. Quick service, just the right amount of noise and tables. Happy to be reconnected with a great place to... More

easy relaxed place with just simply very tasty and fresh food; my friends love quality of the sashimi; i don't eat raw fish but was still delighted with the crab roll and fabulous piece of sea bass (for $13.00) - apparently a real favorite of the many regulars.

As a sushi aficionado and married to a Japanese woman I have travelled half way around the world and have eaten sushi in many Japanese sushi restaurants. Ironically some of the best sushi we ever ate was last night at Sushi King just 2 blocks from our home. The chef/owner, Saito-San, is a master at his craft and has been... More

This restaurant is in our neighborhood and I'm a little torn about writing it up. You see, I'm afraid you will get our seats. It is smaller space as other have pointed out and I too suggest you get here early. They are only open for dinner and do not take reservations. Super good sushi! We crave the food here.... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
