This place is a disgrace to Japanese food. Their idea of a spicy miso soup is adding Mexican pickled chillies. The broth itself is of instant powder soup quality. They use minced (!!!) tuna in the rolls and maki. And it wasn't fresh!! Rice was dried out. Wasabi and pickled ginger store bought. 'Crab meat' equals minced surimi 'seafood' sticks.... More

5th visit here filling in time between flights. I look forward to it every year. Imaginative twists on great Japanese favourites and the happy hour menu is incredible value. Love love love this place!

This is a great go-to spot for a late night Happy Hour. They have food and drink specials that are great for groups.

We had a mixture of raw and cooked dishes - all were tasty and fresh and our party of 5 including kids were all very satisfied 👍🏼 The booth offered a bit of quiet in an otherwise very busy area.

The presentation is nice, but I fear that they don't use the freshest of fish. I had two different dishes with spicy tuna, and in each one, the tuna tasted too fishy. Maybe you should stay away from the raw stuff, but that kind of defeats the purpose of a sushi restaurant. Consequently, I had gastric problems for the next... More

Quite standard sushi bar, nothing fancy but with a wide range of selection. They look like real Japanese and this is rare. Price is reasonable for the quality and the portions served.

Happy Hour very fresh sushi, great selection even at 10PM. My son now lives out of town, but each time he flies in our very first stop is Sake House, while not directly on the way home it is worth the stop. You can get a beer for $2 or super size it to 34Oz for $4, but the trick... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
