From the outside, this hotel looks small and a little retro. But go inside and the luxury lobby will change your mind immediately. The rooms live up to the expectations. Wish they had balconys and better ocaean views but overall this is a lovely hotel. Borrow a retro bike to check out the area.

The food here has a bit of a mexican flavour and it is all very nice for breakfast lunch, dinner and all day snacks.

Drinks at this bar are average, you would expect more from such an expensive hotel. The waitress overcharged us so when we asked her why she short changed our bill she said it was because they didn't have change the find this surprising despite that it was Christmas Day as we were short changed $1.30 not just 30c. Rather than... More

The Viceroy attracts a demographic that wants to have fun. This is SoCal at its best. Trendy, sunny, making days pleasurable. A youngish well heeled crowd and a hotel that wants to give great service. The mimosas were flowing and the food was good and trendy. So ocean views from the first floor, but good to be on Ocean Ave.

Very good final four days in California in the viceroy hotel. Not a cheap place to eat or drink but the service is excellent and the amenities are first class.

I LOVE this hotel. It is a boutique hotel that offers many features of a large hotel but without all the people. Rooms are large and clean. It smells great with their signature scent and the staff goes out of their way to make your stay awesome. The bar staff (especially Alexis) is amazing and always checking to see that... More

I just checked into the hotel with my family, two rooms they gave me where dirty and not cleaned completely for new guests, lack of supervision. Third room ok, bed really bad, first night ended up with bad back pain. Air conditioning loud and not cold enough, old equipment. Room towards the street noisy even with double Windows. Location is... More

Undoubtedly it isn't the cheapest option in the Santa Monica area, but after a lot of research we're thrilled we opted for the Viceroy. The location is great - close to the beach, Main Street, and Santa Monica shopping/ restaurants. The staff are charming and helpful - the concierges are super friendly and switched on. The room was perfect for... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
