Total make over! Beautiful inside! The menu has some old favorites, but many new wonderful dishes with great traditional flavors brought in by the new owner. Give it a try!

Family dinner at a place that's been around forever, but fairly recently changed ownership when the previous owners retired. Pleased to find that the food and service are as good as before. Wide choice on the menu, and everything was excellent. Tasted fresh and homemade. Our drinks and chips were refilled regularly, and the servers checked with us often to... More

I grew up in SP and have always enjoyed going to Familia Diaz. I'm glad that the change in ownership has not led to a change in quality. The food is still delish and the coffee quite good (quality coffee and quality food are equal in my eyes). Try the relleno ahogado; you won't regret it.

Was recommended by a friend so thought we'd try it. Staff very friendly but the food was not very good. Skimpy on the meat, I had to eat my taco with a fork as it crumbled. Not going back.

My husband and I just ate here last night...for about the 4th time since it's been under new ownership. The food keeps getting better and better. Our server, Carlos, is always very professional, yet friendly. The margaritas are great and served in beautiful glasses. I had the Carnitas which is my husband's favorite. They were delicious with very fresh and... More

Full bar with a good selection of beers on tap. Four of us had a selection of different items and everyone agreed that the food was good and we would return.

Familia Diaz has been an icon of Santa Paula for many years and has been taken over by new owners this year. So with any change over the regulars hold their breath and see what happens. Last time I was there things seem to be moving along...with a new re-do on the inside I sure miss the "comfortable" surroundings thats... More

We've been going here for several years when the restaurant was owned by the Diaz family. The new owners have brightened the place up but the food remains much the same. Portions were generous and the food was terrific. Service was friendly and attentive. Right now, the restaurant is involved in a promotion with radio station KHAY. For $25, you... More

We have not been there since they changed. It has always been one of the best MEX. food places in Ventura County. The new owners are supposed to keep all the old recipes from the Diaz Family and keep serving them. If they do that it will continue to be a top rated place.
