One friend ordered the Scottish salmon. What? Something wrong with the local fish? She said it was delicious. Second person ordered the prix fix dinner with the wine pairing. The items preceding the chicken entree were good but the chicken breasts were over- breaded and...More

We really enjoyed Bistro 29. It reminded us of being in a Paris bistro. I had the duck confit crepe, which was wonderful, but more crepe than I could finish. My husband enjoyed the chicken dish. Service was great too.

The wife (Francoise) of the chef/owner is from Normandy and the influence shows. Best described as "modern-classic French", all the favorites are there served with such California touches as a bed of Faro under the Duck Confit in place of potatoes. The cassoulet is good,...More

Eaten here dozens of times. Always enjoyable. Monday thru Thursday try the $34 prix fixe 3 course dinner. Plenty of delicious food for the low price. Respectable wine list. Friendly & efficient service. Cozy dining room. Family owned and operated. Reservations recommended.

I stopped here halfway home after an exhausting week in the central Bay Area. Had an ambrosial French fish stew, an exalted Sancerre, and a blessed chat with an unhurried wairess. I am renewed. Great quiet place on a weeknight.

We thoroughly enjoyed the foie gras and the butter lettuce salad for starters. For our entrees we enjoyed the steak frites and the chicken frites. The food was delicious. The wine list was very reasonable with both French and Napa Valley selections. We would definitely...More

Craft micro breweries exist all over the County - there are plenty of really good choices; their food tends toward pub style and can be quite good. Bistro 29 is a French Bistro where wine is the adult beverage of choice.

Description
Bistro 29 located in downtown Santa Rosa, Sonoma County. Bistro 29 is a traditional bistro specializing in “Breton” regional cuisine. The number 29 comes from the department of Finistère (end of the earth) located in the upper tip of north-west France. Known for the Galette de blé noir (traditional buckwheat crêpe) and sweet crêpes, Bretagne also uses a variety of local seafood and produce that can easily be found in and around northern California.
