We were looking for a spot for lunch where we could sit down and be served instead of ordering at a counter. This fit the bill and the food was great. My husband and I both had a cup of delicious soup and shared the burger with caramelized onions and stilton...to die for. We would definitely go again.

Not as rustic as the name Red Barn would expect. Delicious food and next time we would pay the split charge as the portions are huge. Relaxed and friendly bar atmosphere. Watched the Cubs win the World Series at the Red Barn!

Good service, good vibe and good food. Like their other place, Sides in Los Olivos, the wine list here is disappointing and way overpriced.

We shared the greens salad and 14 ounce ribeye steak. The salad was amazing, perfectly might balsamic dressing, cheese and candied walnuts. The ribeye was amazing. The green beans an mashed potatoes were my favorite. For my birthday they serves the most delectable mud pie. The topping and shaved chocolate and pecans were better than the ice cream. It always... 6 of us had a wonderful dinner at the the Red Barn. The service was great and the special Petrale Sole was amazing. Large portions, and fantastic sides. We also shared two special salads that were creative, fresh and tasty. Everything was very seasonal.

I am a foodie and we came here from Hawaii my friends that lived here it took us to this restaurant from the outside it looked just like a mom-and-pop restaurant however once we got in it was very busy, nicely renovated. We got the best table in the very back looking at the wine cellar. The Scottish salmon, pork... More

This is where we went for dinner for a birthday. If you are a big meat eater it is for you. My husband had prime rib and loved it. I had spring vegetable rolls as I eat a plant based diet and they were really good! Excellent bread as well. Seems like a lot of locals go here, they have... More

If you like prime rib, this is the place. The restaurant is such a happy spot, our waitress ( don't know her name ) but she was fantastic, we had a party of six, & she did an excellent job💖 ! The Caesar salad was also so good! Can't wait to be back!

We ventured into this restaurant, since it was close to our B&B and it was a dark, cold night. Had a great meal. The roasted stuffed chicken breast was very tasty, albeit very greasy since the stuffing was under the skin rather than inserted in the breast itself. The pork chop was huge and excellent. The salad was good and... More

Description
With a fresh, de rigueur exterior of barn-red paint, the interior expresses the warmth of a local tavern, using clean lines and a rustic feel. Accented with oak, restored branded wood beams, a white paneled ceiling and wrought iron lighting, the L-shaped room is refreshed, with higher ceilings and massive glass windows that open the space. As before, there is an open display kitchen observing the chefs at work. Newly created for the restaurant is a glass-enclosed wine room flanking the dining room that co-exists with two wood-burning fireplaces preserved from the original Red Barn. Firewood is supplied by the Agin Brothers, the family that has serviced the Nichols family with seasoned wood for ten years. Two wrought iron and rope chandeliers, hand crafted by local blacksmith Hans Duus, illuminate the room and are lighted with replicas of vintage Edison light bulbs, with more of the Edison-styled glass globes accenting the room. The walls are decorated with historical photographs of Los Rancheros Visitores, the club of local horsemen and ranchers dating back to 1929. Salvaged during the construction was wallpaper discovered under layers of paint and paneling, beautifully illustrated with dancing girls, pistols, playing cards and saloons, now preserved, framed, and gracing the dining room walls. JC's handsome bar was created by locals Scott and Chris Bruhn who used a felled pine tree salvaged from Figueroa Mountain to form the expansive bar top.
