Some restaurants excel in certain dishes, Madras Cafe must be visited for their Kara Masala Dosa which is spicy. My US-born teenager loves it also, although she will not eat most other things on the menu. Their methu vada is also excellent.

My second day visit at USA was to this hotel. Tiffins were very tasty. Saw the Owner cleaning the floor. Good snacks Dosa Vada with three different Chutney and Sambar. Heavy rush being a Sunday.

Madras Cafe is in the ranks of restaurants like Saravana Bhavan. Anyone who hasn't experienced the delights of dosa and idli need to make their way here. The ambience is no-frills so I would say this is a good second date location.

I've tried almost all the popular South Indian restaurants in the area and Madras Cafe is absolutely my favorite. The food has always been fresh and hot. Their service is quick no matter the time of day. Expect wait times during peak dinner hours especially on weekends. If one likes spicy food, I would definitely recommend the Kara dosa -... More

Go to place for a piping hot sambar vada and Madras coffee. Delicious fare and a great place to bump into acquaintances and friends

This restaurant reminds me of old-time 'Madrasi cafeterias' in India, with names like Kamala Vilas, Prem Vilas, Jyoti Vihar, Arya Bhavan, Saravana Bhavana. Same dining-room style fast-paced service, same spicy steaming dosa-vada-utthapam served in stainless steel plates, and same aroma from hot "filter" coffee in tiny steel glasses. Differences are minute, caught in the expert palate - of a bland... More

The coffee, rava dosa and dosas take you back to authentic chennai food scene. The vadai is average and salty. Dont expect service as it is always crowded and self service.

The Cafe suffers delicious South Indian food at very competitive prices. Though it is crowdy, they take orders even as you wait and the food is served immediately after occupying the seats as soon as they are available.

We, the family were at Arques Avenue, Sunnyvale and came across this restaurant..we decided to have lunch as we were hungry. This is located at the intersection of Lawrence express way and Arques Avenue and very close to Fry's Electronic shop and Residence Inn Marriott on Stewart drive which used to be my place of stay when I came to...
