This visit was with ethnic Chinese family members who are well-traveled. We all agreed that this food was cooked correctly as you might find in Chongqing.

When I have trouble deciding what to order because so many dishes get attention, I know that the restaurant is worthy. I enjoyed the 3 dishes we shared I enjoyed immensly.

It has been a while since we had eaten here, and we had not been since the place changed management. The Sign over the door remains the same but the restaurant is now "Chongqing Spicy City". The food is better, mainly Sechuan style, but also some Mandarin dishes. Portions are large, food is very tasty but not overly spicy. For... More

While my wife was away with some friends I decided to go try this restaurant which is close to my house. I had seen this place a number of times but never tried it. This was the first time and I was amazed! I ordered three entrees: the first looked like a large bowl of spaghetti (Wonton tossed with chili... More

Food tastes good sometimes, but you never know when that will be. Every time we visit the taste of each dish changes. They never keep the same cook for long so how can customers know what to expect? I'm concerned about kitchen practices, the quality is meat is not standard, and never we have to hope that our order has... More

Very attentive waiter made our visit enjoyable. The spicy dishes definitely have a "punch" but with nice sauces to bring character to the burn. We ordered 3 dishes for 3 people and could only eat half (took the other half home for lunch the next day).

Went there with Chinese friends. Not many "good" chinese places that I've found in North County, but this on is a pleasant exception

Finally, a real Chinese restaurant in north county San Diego. I have now eaten three times at Spicy King. One time takeout, and twice in the restaurant. Every time the food has been excellent. The restaurant itself is a not fancy, but hey, are you here to see the décor or eat? I go to eat. And eat well I... More

Travel to China all the time. Definitely this is Szechuan food in Vista, CA. The Chinese staff obviously knew what they were cooking and it wasn't American Chinese. If you do not know Chinese food, or are not adventurous and do not like spice this may not be the best place for you. The facility is basic but the service... More
