We went with the chicken fried steak, something I haven't experienced in about 30 years. That should tell you all you need to know. The service is good, the prices not outrageous, the salad bar looked good, and the portion size was huge. We had a baked potato with our CFS. My wife and I should have split a single... More

Conveniently located at the intersection of I-5 and US 97. Well prepared standard diner fare with VERY friendly and efficient service. I especially enjoy breakfast, but have been there for good lunch and dinner as well. Senior pricing for good deals on slightly smaller portions. I have enjoyed the corned-beef hash as well as Denver omelettes. I will be back.

Good friendly service and plenty of seating. Steak, potato mashed or baked, steamed veggies (fresh frozen), dinner roll reasonably priced. A good option if your traveling and want a sit down meal, casual. It isn't a gourmet 5star place and it isn't trying to be. Kid friendly senior friendly.

What a great way to start the day! This is an old fashioned cafe with great friendly service and many locals visiting over coffee and delicious food. We were here on Halloween and several staff were in costumes and having fun. Our food was fabulous, some of the best hash browns ever. They were fried with onions and were crispy... More

We found this place on a cold, dark and rainy night. And what a find! Wonderful old standards with plenty of food and plenty of nice people within. Everything fresh, and I mean pies and cakes. Portions are very ample (so if you're a Senior and worried about small portions, don't be...) The beer called Shastafarian was truly excellent, and... More

My family travels on the I-5 corridor often and are always hungry around the Weed area. We finally called in an order at the Hi-Lo. Like most reviews mentioned, it is true "diner" food. However, their menu has lots of options. Wife had a Caesar salad sandwich which she loved. I had a club melt that had thick cut ham,... More

Big home style dishes. Energetic staff that may have had too much coffee. Close to the highway and a much better stop than the usual fast food fare.

There is not a large selection of places to eat in Weed. This restaurant is located on US 97, and a short ride off of I 5, next to the Hi Lo Motel. Street parking. It is the typical diner type facility and restaurant. The waitresses were friendly in this casual diner. The usual American type diner food. Service was... More

We had both dinner and breakfast here and it was like good home cook'in. Choices were good and the price was good for California. At breakfast it is a locals " GOOD OL BOY " hang out. If you want to know the local buzz go to the big round table by the front window, and talk to the guys... More

This place is like a diner. I think there is outdoor seating in appropriate weather. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. Our dinner was wonderful....especially the vegetables. And the pie was out of this world. We went back for breakfast even though our hotel offered free, hot breakfast. We were not disappointed. I won't forget this place!
