Always like coming here when in town. Wasn't very crowded which is unusual. Love sitting at the bar but sat at table. Waiter was awesome. Had the Thai Seabass -spicy but incredible! fellow diners had the Ramen and Crab which was awesome as well.

We loved the atmosphere, particularly that it was cozy and not stuffy. The server was well versed on their menu. Nice wine selection. I had the risotto which I loved. Both co workers were very impressed with their food as well. They even had Wellfleet...More

We had dinner and wine on a Monday evening. It was okay. I had a caesar salad that was small and underwhelming, but not horrible. Then I had the sea bass. I did enjoy the vegetable sides, but the fish was over done and mediocre....More

Jax is consistently good for fresh seafood, which is hard to find in the Rocky Mountains other than fresh caught river trout. Jax has a couple of locations in the Front Range; there is approximately an 80% consistency in the menus from one location to...More

Also great house chardonnay! We stayed in Boulder 2 nights and almost ate here twice. For those who don't like to visit chain restaurants when they travel, to call this a chain is misleading. It's not like an Applebees. There are only a couple more...More

The food here is impeccable, as is the service. However? Happy hour is packed, hard to get a seat. Reservations highly recommended. Love the oysters on the half shell, and lobster roll was amazing. Caviar on the menu is top notch. Overall fun, great ambiance,...More

The good food we had on our visit couldn’t make up for the snafu in seating and service on our last visit. We first had oysters and drinks at the bar. No issues here-the bartender (who we’ve seen before) is a real pro-attentive, anticipates your...More

Ate here with a friend and we had a wonderful meal. We started with a variety of raw oysters, and had oyster shooters. We then had the crab cake appetizer, and split the sea bass entree. The food was fresh, served well, perfect temperature, and...More

Jax Fish House is probably your best, most affordable fish stop in landlocked Boulder Co. It is busy for a reason, but worth the wait. It is also loud! But I still enjoy going there and using the crayons on the paper table clothes.
